Really crazy busy day yesterday but have had 2 NSDs (one new goal is to set a target for this each month for myself) - I will put a Post-1t tracker in my diary to mark off each day through the month
One thing I did manage to do yesterday was broach a couple of expenses issues with my boss - one didn't really phase him (he just laughed) and the other he understood because I had done it for my safety - he was really kind about the latter actually - pleasingly surprised me.
I haven't got my expenses 'on the system' as yet so I will schedule something in my diary to get that done, hopefully before the end of the week (I have got all the receipts in a pile, in date order - just need to do all the scanning, labeling, uploading categorising etc etc etc ....)
Oh, had my wages and CoL payment arrive in my account today. The tax that came out of it was fairly hefty but always useful to have 'free' monies so I'm not complaining. I will split it between savings and OP'ing
KKAs at 15.07.25:
- When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £233,521
- OPs to mortgage = £11,816 Interest saved £5,28 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030

Produce tracker: £272 of £300 in 2025

CoL payment split equally between OP and savings accounts - so that's £567.71 to both.
That takes us to 14.43% of my first OP target of (hopefully) 50% LTV ratio.
Savings are now at £4831.17 - aiming to get through the £5K barrier this month (in spite of C/Mas shopping etc.)
Feeling really positive tonightI know I won't get leg-ups like this all the time, but they are so nice when they happen
Hubby happy too and he is going to chase his boss for the 'finders fee' he was promised so that can be split between an OP and his (first ever, at the age of 57!) savings account

I have had a lump of cashb@ck land from TCB - that’s another £52.67 (mainly the curtains for winter-proofing the house) to divvy up between savings and OP (once it reaches my account)

Reading back through recent posts has reminded me that I haven't had any response to my email to B@yliss and H@rding ..... Humph!
Feeling virtuous as have just done a quick sweep through the frozen vegan food in the cellar and the kitchen and my groceries spend should be fairly minimal this week! Will do some meal planning for the weekend and next week after dinner tonight.

Well, I didn't get the meal planning done and time will be tight tonight (delivery is due Saturday - eek!) as we are going over to Ps-i-L i think so I can be given this 'significant' birthday present MiL is planning for me. I am slightly dreading it - my emotions and responses to things show very clearly on my face and I am worried I might not like it <must focus strongly on the sentiment behind the action, not the object itself!!>
However, in nice news, because I keep blathering on about various sized OPs (from tiny to significant) Hubby is starting to get energised about it and was saying that he wants 'that money from t'boss so I can give half to you and you can put it on't mortgage'Also, and this is huge, he has promised that he, for my birthday this weekend, will, definitely, absolutely set up an Atom savings account. He is fairly online banks etc. averse (hates all the security protocols etc) so we have agreed we will do this together. He also wants to minimise what he does with his current account in relation to his savings, so he is very likely to set up a SO for every 2 weeks (when he gets paid) to just sweep an amount straight into his savings. I am sooooo excited about this!!!

Great news that your Hubby is excited by overpaying the mortgage and much more fun when you are working on it together. Are you able to track your daily interest payments? When my OH's enthusiasm flags I point out that our daily interest is now half of what we were paying in 2019 (when I started tracking daily interest) or how many months we have reduced our mortgage by.
Wishing you a happy birthday this weekend 🎂 🎈 🎉Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I haven't found daily interest to be much of a motivation as it hasn't changed enough (yet!) but what I did share with him is that by next month we should be transitioning from the £28#K number to a £27#K number!!!That feels like a new threshold

Excellent on finding a way to keep you both motivated.
I find being aware of the daily interest (even a ballpark) useful as it can influence my buying decisions do we really want that takeaway or would we rather pay X days mortgage interest? Even if the takeaway wins it was a conscious decision.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
