Late, lazy start today 😊❤️Did the rounds of the neighbours this morning, dripping little splashes of goodwill through their front doors via Christmas cards 😊 Another bundle dropped into the post box 😊Mr KK gave me £50 to spend on myself for a Christmas present, so after doing a tip run I went to the garden centre and picked up a max minimum thermometer for my greenhouse and a really good new spray hose head ❤️ I might also have acquired a very posh and unusual Amaryllis 😊Just been down to the chapel for a carol service and nativity. I have never seen so many dressing gowns, blankets, sheets, antimacassars etc in one place, at one time, ever! 😊😂❤️ A senior Parish councillor was definitely wearing a purple curtain whilst she was acting as one of the three Wise Men 😉 We sang lots of carols including some happy words to the tune of Amarillo … OMG! The organist at the end said, sotto voce, that he was impressed, I replied that I was scarred! 😂😂😂😂 Lovely atmosphere and I fled before the mince pies and mulled wine reached me. Mr KK missed it as he was on the other side of the Forest dropping presents off with his mum and dad 😊It’s been a good day 😊

Carol service is always fun / yours sounds lovely
I went to the local Irish centre .. they also included as carols ‘nothing compares to you’ by sinead/prince and some Pogurs songs along with mulled wine
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Did a financial round up these evening and coloured in another four £500 ‘house bricks’! 😊
Our balance now starts with a £25#### 😊 A loooong way to go still, but steady progress 😊
CC bill is horrible this month (new WM, Cmas present buying etc.) but it’s all in savings waiting to be spent. I think the NY will see a focus on topping up savings for a while, so OPs will have to take a back seat for a bit.

Topping up savings sounds a good plan.
Your nativity experience sounds interesting. For me I loved the carols but the nativities were always too hot and too crowded.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

That’s why I left when it got to alcohol free (Chapel) mulled wine and mince pies as that’s when everyone would start moving around. I spoke to the Minister, said well done to the main organisers and scarpered! 😉savingholmes said:Topping up savings sounds a good plan.

My boss has been nagging me about completing my PDA - I think this is because he wants to give us all our bonus next year, so perhaps that might help the savings? 😊🤷♀️😉
