    Thanks @LadyWithAPlan :)

I am happy to report that my not spending / spending less is still going quite well. Had to buy a wedding card for everyone to sign for one of my reports and will chuck a £note in it as a gift for him, but other than that, no spends so far this week!  :)

I will hang on to the "Present me / Future me" concept!  :)

    KK

    Well done on spends
I like the present v future me as I still feel like I am rewarding myself :) just later!
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Die eule spielt immer schach! 😂😂 Bist du mein vater? Ich bin schauspielerin! 😂😂😂

    All the useful phrases 😁
    😂😂😂😂😂😂👏

Survived the library and no fine. Apparently they are getting piles of books in from up to two years ago! At least mine were only a few months …. 😉

Little progress on anything else as hubby needed help with clearing vegetation so that he could pneumatic drill up the path around the house to go in the ‘skip’ we have atm that will become a deck / patio outside the lounge French doors once we swop them with the window ….. the logistics of doing things here gets quite complicated ….!

But three loads of washing done, on the whirly and the towels are sloshing about now 😊

Vegan bolognese batch done - just needs divvying up, labelling and getting in the freezer.

All washing in off the whirly and put away.

Tesco turned up (Phew!! after yesterday's IT issues that they had, I did wonder if they might not) so that means I won't have to waste two hours dealing with that tomorrow :)

Mortgage OP of £54.55 as our DD for our energy has come down a bit (we are on a fixed rate which I snaffled just before the war in Ukraine kicked off!  :o Pure fluke!) so I can update my signature  :)

Spent an hour in the spare room. Floor, windowsill and bed all clear or tidy, wardrobe and built in cupboard are accessible! One bin bag of rubbish. One hefty armful of paper / card recycling. Printing paper (plain and photographic) and cartridges have a home in the built in cupboard behind the printer.

Having a breather, and cooling down, in front of a fan with a drink and then will head back upstairs to carry on clearing my desk and looking at curtains. Feeling pleased with what I have done so far 😊

Need to find a way to dispose of two old mobile phones - still have the chargers. Any ideas?

Spent significant monies on made to measure, thermally lined curtains, in the Terry's sale with 6% cash back - quite a lot of monies, but it will make a big difference to the warmth of the house this winter and we will be living with them for years so I hope it will be worth it! Just need to change the rail in the kitchen and put one up over the second window in the dining room that never seems to have had curtains. When the cashback comes through, I will convert it into Tesco's vouchers as you get a greater return that way.

Some key reference books and art materials are now lined up on the cleared office windowsill, the washing I collected up from the spare room and Hubby's room (he was tidying up his 'pit'  :# at the same time i was tidying the office) on the whirly to get it as dry as I can before finishing it off in the tumble, if needed. Will carry on with tidying my office a bit more now.

Also, manged to undo an incorrect repeat row in the blanket i am knitting and carry on with a further 3 rows after that  :)

I have had a really productive weekend  :)

I was in that bit of the main MSE site, looking for SIM-only deals and I read some of the guidance. I'm sure there was a mention, but it might have been in the email, or someone's diary. Sorry, not very helpful at all. Ah, might have been a trade in any old carp for a Sam-sings and get £xx off

    Sorry, brain not working

    Evening all 😊

    Two financial things - a ‘phew! swerve’ and a cogitation … 🤔

Hubby renewed our AA subscription on Wednesday, so far so good as we need this - hubby has many historic vehicles …. 😉 The renewal payment letter stated it would be paid for on the #####3322 number, but then I had a notification on my phone saying that the amount had come from ######5566 number, leaving me concerned we’d paid twice! 😳 It took hubby getting very stressed (he’s hopeless at making calls like that) but between us and the AA we deduced that the two different numbers were the account number and the card number in the same account so we had only paid once! Phew!!

The cogitation is that my RHS renewal has come through; £66. I am dithering about whether to renew or not ….

Decision made on the RHS membership - I shall cancel the renewal as having it leads to cheaper tickets to RHS shows such as Malvern and yet more spending temptation!

Couple of other actions I have captured in my financial projectbook:

    - J Lewis are cancelling their cashback C/Cd at the end of October 2022 so I need to look for a better alternative between now and then and do the migration across to the new card.

    - Actually go through all the ideas I have in my £cial project book, do an update on it all and prioritise anytjing that has key dates.

Did a Tilly-tidy this morning and moved another £191.38 to savings from my current account  :)

I understood the new CC for John Lewis will take any leftover points to count towards their vouchers on the same basis as the HSBC one did. I've just received my replacement card today (5 points for every £4 in Waitrose or John Lewis, 1 point for every £4 elsewhere, £5 voucher for every 5000 points, sent out every 4 months)
