Don't feel bad about giving stuff to a charity shop - that's literally what they're there for! 😊

Excellent decluttering work. I thought of you earlier when Mr Cheery assembled 19 of his pairs of shoes under the table, and declared we should probably limit our shoes to 15 pairs each 😂😂 I was simultaneously horrified at having to limit to 15, and horrified that I was horrified 😂😂

You always sound like you get so much done... Slightly in awe.
Good grief no! There has been soooo much sitting on the sofa watching the Stacey decluttering programme this weekend! Anyway, you can’t talk - you’ve done amazing things in recent months and are absolutely my inspiration 😊❤️

  • Yes don't feel bad about giving items to charity.  I used to follow Dave Ramsay when I was getting us debt-free and he advocates giving, so I always think of charity donations as part of giving and choose one close to my heart.  I'm part of a facebook gifting group and have also taken things into the women's refuge and the homeless shelter.  I'm really glad that others can make use of things.

Thanks for that. I tend to give my CS stuff to the local hospice shop (we are hopeless at death in this country and I think hospices are a critical resource) and I am set up as a gift-aided donor so they get more from every one of my donations that they sell.

For a week night I have had quite a productive evening:
    - washing taken upstairs, hung and put away
    - went through the recruitment paperwork for the parish council clerk prior to the meeting of the personnel committee (3 people! 😉) on Wednesday night.
    - call with the guy who originally helped set up the house insurance policy - turns out @viv@ have stopped providing all policies to the broker - we have a bit of a plan:
-*- contact weed killer company to get them to confirm that we are JKW free
-*- contact @viv@ directly with the policy number and see if we can renew with them directly
    - contacted the weedkilling company - they say they are coming out ‘soon’ to check for JKW - if we are clear of it we can have a certificate. I have grovelled and said we need to know / have the certificate before the end of next week! 🤞
    - sorted one of the many, many drawers in my bedroom ….. only removed c. 50% of the contents …. Ho hum.

    And on a lighter note:

I asked my dad what he would like for his birthday next month. After a couple of days I have just received this reply:

“I realise that the hand-held electric beater you kindly gave me a couple of decades ago is, very unfortunately, nearing the end of its life. It has done extremely well – it still works and, indeed, I depend on it very heavily. But the outer casing is cracked and, occasionally, sparks and smoke are produced… so I suspect it would be prudent to consider a replacement of some kind rather soon? Something along those lines would be very warmly welcomed.”

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 As Mr KK said, only my dad would send an email like that! 🤷‍♀️🤩❤️😂
