Virgin Media Price Hike

Well....I was on hold for 30 minutes....then had a 25 minute negotiation (as MSE tells us, remain polite!)....our 200Mbit XL package would have leapt over £100 in March. I agreed to drop the second box we have (kept 'in case', but very rarely used, especially now we have the Fire stick): that saved a tenner, but with the rest remaining the same, they dropped us right down to £64 pcm for an 18 month contract - VERY happy with that 😎👍
Best hour I've spent in a while on the moneysaving front....over £600 saved across the next 18 months: a real-world 35% saving, or 29% if we remove the savings from the second older TIVO).
Could have dropped from 200Mbit to 100Mbit (& I am sure our usage would not have noticed the difference, although we are a fairly tech household), but that would only have saved a couple more quid.
Make a note to prepare for the contract dance again in July 2023 🤪
Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!0 -
There'll be another price rise before then July 2023, that's when you look into it again.0
