Moving from FTTC to FTTP and back again

Vodafone use more than one network provider to supply broadband to their customers , Openreach show VF on their website as one of the ISP’s that offer service over OR FTTP, but as already said , not in absolutely every area where OR have FTTP do VF offer service over it….no doubt there will be some areas where VF offer service over other network providers FTTP , even if OR network is also available , VF have the choice to use OR or not use , but if they don’t have their own interconnection cable links and don’t want to use BTw interconnects they simply say to potential customers who want FTTP from VF, sorry you can’t have it even if FTTP from other ISPs that use OR can offer service in that area.1

I'm (hopefully!!) exchanging on a house sale shortly and looking to order broadband. Currently we have FTTC with PlusNet, 80 down and 20 up which is more than adequate for us very light internet users at £22 a month.
Our new place has FTTP and FTTC but it seems impossible using the comparison sites to get FTTC. Going direct with BT gives us the option. Current provider PlusNet only offer ADSL.
So I will go from £22 to £30 a month for a service I don't need (unless I go back to ADSL).
Am I forced to phoning ISPs to get FTTC or should I just give up and get FTTP? I'm annoyed at having to pay way extra for a service I don't need (and appreciate others need the speed I don't need!)0 -
I've been offered all services, fttp, fttc, adsl..... Not by all providers though... Have you been on comparison sites?0

Have you tried someone like Now Broadband, they only offer an ADSL and FTTC product at the moment, unlike their parent company Sky who are forced to use FTTP where it's available.0 -

The house currently has an overhead line from the street pole and ADSL with BT. If I go on the BT website I get offered ADSL, FTTC or FTTP. Comparison websites only give ADSL or FTTP.
Cashback from Quidco reduces the price to £26.24 so suppose I should suck it up and consider myself lucky I can get broadband in the first place!0 -
Just to finish what I started....
I signed up for Vodafone superfast 67Mb via a cashback link which went active yesterday. No drama, no fuss, everthing worked like clockwork and router has trained at 69.4mb with max possible on line being 70.4mb. Heres hoping it conitues like this for the next 24 months!0
