Hello all! I am looking for some help that it way out of my comfort zone!
So bit of background; currently with VM. We are moving to a new property this weekend but a new connection is required.. Advised VM mid December of this. They keep scheduling in the external work everyday and it never happens. Installation of services is due for this Monday, but I doubt it will be done in time. VM are really messing us around a bit with the external works to be honest, but they have the best fibre in the area so we will be willing to wait.
The issue is, we both work from home. We both use a Surface GO tablet to connect to our workspace via Citrix. We both have daily Teams meetings. We're looking for something to help keep us connected to work in the interim until VM pull their finger out. (We can go to the office, but will cost £25 each per day in train fares! which we cannot afford). Sky etc only have 17-26mbps broadband in the area, and we don't really want to sign up to a 12/18 month contract with them. I have heard about an unlimited data 4G MIFI or something and wondered whether this would suit our needs temporarily?
Any help is majorly appreciated.

Do you know how good the signals are locally on various networks (O2,EE, Vodaphone, 3 etc.) as what speed you can get on mobile would obviously be of importance to your needs?
This is VM's offering as you could obviously approach them to try to do a deal as they are causing you the issue https://www.virginmedia.com/broadband/mobile-broadband - but see above, check what local download speed on their network would be first.0 -
Why don't you tether to your mobile and use that?0

A monthly unlimited sim would work. Check which provider actually gives best signal though rather than using the online coverage checkers. You could stick the sim in a spare mobile, but a (used from ebay etc?) mifi unit will give a better signal. Talkmobile, Smarty, ID mobile & Plusnet amongst others do sims with on a 30 day contract
