Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hi, hoping i can jump on this thread and seek confirmation as i live in Scotland.
Similar scenario where I received letters from ZZPS (via UKPC) for £170 and have today received a letter from GCTT, threatening that if I don't pay, it will be referred to a solicitor.
"you have received this letter as UK PARKING CONTROL LIMITED" is fully intending on pursuing this matter through the courts, however, they would like to offer you the opportunity to settle the balance before ths happens and avoid the need for legal action"
I have search and can't find anything concrete but assuming the law in Scotland is still the same and the fine of £170 cannot be enforced?0 -
But it's already in the NEWBIES FAQS thread.
No need to search but if you did a good search* you would have found loads of recent Scottish cases telling you all about the current (and future changing) legal position.
*A 'good search' here on MSE is: always change 'best match' to NEWEST when searching!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you. Appreciate your reply.
Not sure I deserved the tone though.. maybe I didn't search thoroughly enough, I'm new to this site. However, I will ensure I do next time so's not to waste anyone's time!
I have noted your advice.Thank you.1 -
Ahhh! Sorry, written word being misconstrued. When I said do a 'good' search I wasn't implying you did a bad one!
I meant the forum is bad in that it presents people with a 'best match' that isn't.
And we do always advise everyone to just read the NEWBIES thread first, and it requires no search at all, because it's at the top of the forum (my signature - below every post I make - explains exactly where to click, for non-forum users).PRIVATE 'PCN'?
