GCTT & ZZPS Letters - Scotland

2

Comments

  • Quick update;

The keeper has received not one but TWO letters from QDR in relation to this ticket.

The first letter wanted £182 on behalf of their client 'ZZPS' who were acting on behalf of Civil Enforcement Limited. It stated that if payment was not made within 14 days then they may pass the case onto Yuill & Kyle. Yuill and Kyle are basically a debt collecting solicitor in Scotland.

They then sent a further letter advising that the first letter contained an error, in relation to who the client was, and that a further letter would be sent. This is getting really quite embarassing. The keeper really doesn't expect to hear from them again.

These companies are nothing more than scam artists, and incompetent scam artists at that!

Continue to ignore. Court is not an option for them, despite their bluster. Any claim under the £300 barrier Scottish courts put in place to stop claims for trivial amounts clogging them up, suffers swingeing cost penalties that can't be recovered to even get the claim under way. That's why all the court cases you hear about involves dozens of tickets.

And now they can't add their false £70.  Government has banned it.

See the thread by bargepole re the new statutory Code of Practice that he and I both had some input into achieving.

  • They will be ignored. No further letter has arrived correcting their error either!

  • I maybe spoke too soon.

QDR have now sent an identical letter out again. This will also be getting ignored by the keeper.

From looking online and on here, the keeper believes they will receive a further letter from DCBL or whoever later in the year. Very desperate stuff!

You're getting the hang of this stuff, nice one. 👍
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You could reply telling them about the fact the debt recovery 'fees' are now banned (declared by the Minister to be 'designed to extort money from motorists') and encouraging them/their clients to read the new Code of Practice and stop wasting your and their time on a Scottish case!

Hi everyone, currently have a PCN that has been passed to ZZPS and I have just received my second letter from them, where they have added on £70.  I'm in England and not really sure which parts of this thread relate in my situation.  I also struggle to understand some of it.  I am about to send a cease and desist letter to ZZPS.  Having read this thread I should have perhaps ignored all of it but I had already written to CPM who issued the PCN as it was invalid according to Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 section 9 (4) & (5) which states the notice has to be issued within 14 days and it was received on the 18th day.

I thought because of this it was a slam dunk so was suprised that they passed it on to ZZPS.

@greatgazza, it is probably best that you start your own thread about your problem.

Trying to deal with the different issues of two different posters, especially when one is in England and the other in Scotland, can only lead to confusion.

So can I please ask that you delete your post from this thread and start your own thread where you will certainly get all the help you need?
    Thanks.
