MCE car insurance administration

I’m looking for some help or advice about my car insurance with MCE. They’ve recently gone into administration, and I have been paying my policy off monthly with them since June 2021.

I had an email from them a week before Christmas regarding the administration and will need to find alternative insurance. My policy totals almost £4000 and have paid around £3300 off towards the year, I’m looking for some sort of refund for the months I won’t be insured/money I’ve paid, and had no help from the insurance company when I’ve spoke to them. Also called my bank as I heard I could possibly ask for a charge back but had no luck there either. Is there anything I could do? Or do I have to face that I’ve lost the money? And will the cancelled policy affect future quotes?
