I've been quite busy over the last 4 days so have not posted but I've managed to do a large casserole in the always alight oven. It's pheasant with cider, apples, chestnuts and mushrooms (chestnuts and apples were frozen from last year) yielded 14 portions, now labelled and frozen. Also I had a fillet of venison which I'm working my way through making wellingtons, 4 done so far but I've just run out of the pate so I need to think of another idea.
Biscuit making this morning when I've finished tidying the kitchen, done the washing and helped DH back a young male horse.4 -

I love chicken breast fillets and lean beef mince, primarily because I can cook lots of different curries, spag bols, CCCs and then freeze them in pot sized portions.
2kg of fillets costs around £12, and I have about 4 packs in my freezer along with a few loaves of bread among other things. In my other freezer I have those very same cooked but frozen curries and CCCs3 -
I had very little lateral though on what to do with the venison loin in the fridge, I was supposed to make wellingtons but ran out of pate. In the end I cut it into portions and browned the outsides, froze them so that when I next make pate the they will just need defrosting and using in a welly boot. I think my brain is on holiday at the moment.3
