I'm not an orange squash drinker either, it takes me months to get through any sort of squash.
I'm making slow progress on the freezer and eating mostly fresh stuff or things like granola, porridge or hummus. Freezer levels seem to be down a bit and I've just taken out a casserole for DH to have tomorrow while I'm working. Now I need a recipe to use up brussels sprouts, rhubarb, pomegranate seeds and sour cherries... that will save me some space!

Forgot to mention on wednesday also took out half pack of pork loin steaks and one each of discounted xmas veg that we prepped and froze. Parsnip, carrot and swede all mashed together with steaks on top. Yum.
Ms M been doing dinner last couple of days, chest infection has me laid up in bed.
This chicken recipe was one of only 2 recipes i kept when i got rid of a stack of food magazines. Amazing and easy. Thinking of doing enchiladas with the leftovers tonight. Well, will ask ms C if she'll make it!

Out: half a loaf of bread; pack of beef mince which will be turned into a slightly confused keema curry (need to use up the red curry paste so it will be a bit 'fusion').
I was going to take out bacon but I can't for the life of me remember what I was going to do with it. So leaving it in till I remember.

Hi chums my granddaughter brought me 3 big wedges of blue cheese which had been reduced and because I had some room I've popped them into the freezer Does anyone know if blue cheese freezes ok ? i freeze ordinary cheese without a problem but have never frozen blue cheese before Just trying to think of a good recipe to use it up in or I will be eating it for ever

I think blue cheese would be fine frozen but I usually cook with it so texture is less important. Blue cheese scones are good, or broccoli and blue cheese soup.5

There's always broccoli and Stilton soup to make but I can't think of anything else offhand.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Delurking to say blue cheese makes a great pasta sauce. I make a normal cheese sauce but with the blue, then stir it through whatever pasta I have to hand. Add some green veg - frozen peas can just be added for the last few minutes to the pasta cooking water. Usually also add some cooked bacon or sausage or other meat that I’ve got as leftovers.7

@london_1 a little blue cheese goes a long way! Throw over jacket potato, pizza, steak (ha, i should be so lucky). With summer coming a creamy salad dressing, tucked between roasted veg on tart. And of course the end bits always good thrown into a soup or stew for added flavour. Oh, and stuffed chicken breast, posh mac&cheese. The list is endless.
I got a bit of blue cheese and truffle cheddar, want to make n1gel sl@ter's giant cheese scone this weekend.

Golly thats given me a few ideas, the stuffed chicken breast especially as I have several chicken breast in the freezer, and I love broccoli so broccoli and stilton sounds nice as well.
It was wrapped and very airtight when I got it, I think reduced to make room, it originally was £3.60 per wedge and DGD Katie snaffled it at 75p per wedge. I usually like it with some crackers and a few grapes as I like the taste of grapes or sliced apple and blue cheese. but I fancied the idea of cooking it , maybe a chunk in a jacket spud would be tasty as well. i've often frozen hard cheeses but never blue stilton as its never been in the fridge for long enoughbut you've got my taste bud going now and I will try some over the weekend I think
Cheers chums
