I would second going on your local council planning website for detailed plans.

We have recently purchased a new build and the sales office were more than happy to provide us with detailed kitchen plans and architectural drawings etc.
Wish ours was this cooperative! We’ve asked twice& they’ve said no.

When you say council - how can they assist? As it’s a new build? What plans will they be able to provide us with ??
The local council had to agree to the designs of the houses etc as part of the planning application which the developers would have submitted to them.

We were also given a lot of information via our solicitors. A conveyancing pack should
have been sent to your solicitor which most probably contains the information which you need.

I took photos of the plans when sat in the sales office. I asked if I could have a copy so I could use them to know measurements etc, and they said no, so I just snapped a photo quickly haha!

Just check online there will be more docs related to the planning that you ever dreamed of.

Some round us have 100s of docs.

Surprising you have not gone through them already you may uncover some surprising information.

Builders love making changes and forget to tell the buyers.

Planning drawings should be taken with a pinch of salt.  While the external appearance and size of the building is fixed by planning, internal layouts will often be adjusted as the design develops to accommodate services etc.  Even the external appearance can change if a non material amendment is submitted.

Aren't the plans for the planning permission (probably available on the council's website) sufficient for your needs?

Our first house was a new build. We were not only shown detailed plans of the house, we were made to sign them as well. This was in 2014 though. I took photos of all of them and was offered photocopies if I wanted them.
