Winter Fuel Payment - Have you got your payment?

Options
Been awarded months ago winter fuel payment with bulb energy, but wondered if anyone else had payment yet. Only asking as on smart payg with big debt and taking a lot of money I do not have. Like £100  a week. Not using loads either and on economy 7 with 2kw oil filed heater for whole home.
Kind Regards
Bill

Are you talking about the Government Winter Fuel Payment ? Your energy supplier shouldn;t have anything to do with it.
All payments should have been made by January 14th - if you are eligible and haven't had a payment by then you can contact them as per the link here

Mine hit the bank in November.  As poohsticks says, it's nothing to do with the energy supplier it comes from Government.

If you're talking about the warm home discount then it can be anything up until end of March when you receive it. https://www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme/low-income

Do you mean the Winter Fuel Payment for people of State Pension age?

    https://www.gov.uk/winter-fuel-payment

If it's that, the information says it should be paid by 14 January.

Or do you mean the Warm Home Discount available for people on a low income? That money is not paid to you - it’s a one-off discount on your electricity bill.

    As per this link -

    https://www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme

The different payments can get confusing! But if you were with bulb you must have been transferred to another energy company and maybe you should chase that payment with them, in case that information didn't get transferred with your account.

  • Regarding the warm home discount ; ( I'm with edf who call it the warm homediscount support plus) .
I got the award last year for the first time . I never heard anything , so decided to check the edf page yesterday . I didn't know that you had to reapply , so missed the cut off point .
I'm not a pensioner and got this due to being on UC. Apparently , if I was a pensioner I would have received award automatically according to the page on edf website .

I snoozed and lost out unfortunately . Lesson learnt.

I was going to post here yesterday warning people to reapply. Then I found this thread.
my only issue is that imho I should have been reminded by edf .

Oh well,  worse things in life ..

I've received the WHD for years, can't remember exactly how long but you have to reapply every year. It's not automatically given to the in the "broader group" it depends on circumstances. It's first come first served, so even if someone does apply, it's not guaranteed.

I thought Bulb was being run under a special administration scheme so customers are not being transferred to a different supplier.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
