Well dh is back to work today, it’s been so strange having him all over Christmas in his old job he was just always there 😆 I thought we would bicker but it’s been pretty good although very lazy. Usually we would go to York afterwards for a few days but decided to stay home and not spend instead. Aside from breakfast out one day we have done anything except a couple of cinema trips and have this still got the £210 we received in total for Christmas, which is helpful. We didn’t even make the zoo in the end as it was just too cold for motivation to happen.I’ve just had a text from DIL saying will I be on standby for a show tonight (that I would love!) which was her Xmas present to ds2 as she’s not sure if she will go as she’s not feeling great. Will find out later, but I don’t go out much at all anymore, especially into central London in the cold ☃️ I think they can resell the tickets if they don’t go but I’ll pay for mine from the Christmas money if I do (hoping it’s not too dear 🤣).Yesterday I sorted through a load of clothes and re bagged them into selling or keeping for summer. It’s a lot of stuff 🙄 nothing worth much so it will be a long slog selling on vinted. I may give myself a six month time frame and then charity anything left perhaps. I’ve still got stuff listed from two years ago on there for £1 or so. Clothing challenge wise, I think I’ll try for 6 months on £50 (I’ve £53.38 in vinted today so will transfer £50 out, plus the either £30 or £40 primarni voucher I got for Xmas, dh bought it and it doesn’t say how much it is and he can’t remember 😆) I’ll revisit this half way through the year as I’m anticipating needing lots of new much smaller sized clothes by then! Wishful thinking perhaps 😏
Budget wise I’ve settled on a six month plan, it’s hard to plan ahead but I need some sort of plan or I’ll just go well off track!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁1 -
All sounds very sensible and well done on a low spend New year must have been good for your DH to have proper time off for a change.
As for Vinted it is annoying when things do not sell even a super low prices. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth selling as a bundle on Facebook Marketplace not I haven't done it yet.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I’ve tried selling bundles on vinted Tallgirl and offering multi purchase discounts, most people always seem to want one item though.
Thanks SC just checked it it was £30 😊
So the new monthly all in budget of £350 started on the 4th, I’ve already spent £45.93 on mostly stuff that’s not food - a great start 🤣
Went for a coffee with best friend yesterday and then last night went to see inside number 9 with ds2, they wouldn’t take any money for the ticket so I treated him to a water 😬 £7.50 for two plastic bottles of water 😱 it can’t be helped unfortunately. Then £9.60 on the tube, as well as buying four birthday cards and a bit of food. The show was great though, chilly out mind!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Right, time for a new plan for the new year which is subject to change if needs be, so I’ll plan for the next 6 months and update monthly.
£1617.10 Bills and DD’s including savings pots for yearly expenses
£200.00 Self funding holiday/sick pay pot
£200.00 High interest savings account for a year - to go towards holidays
£120.00 0% cc monthly payment
£2137.10 Total out Pm£2560.00 Total in pm
£1003.00 Extra money from business Jan/feb/March only.£15,351 Left to pay for trips this year and one next year.
£7480 Saved in premium bonds towards trips
£2400 Plus interest saved towards trips in high interest account as mentioned previously
DEBTS:
£3304.55 Virgin 0% cc - interest free until 22nd Nov 2026
£9850.39 NW 0% cc- interest free until April 2027
So the plan is to pay for all the trips in the first half of the year:
£15,351.00 Outstanding
- £2400.00 from the high interest account come the yearly end date - sept last payment
- £7480.00 premium bonds
-£1400 x3 Jan/feb/March from wages
-£422.90 x3 April/May/June from wages
So it’s zero budget accounting again, I’ve a personal spends budget of £125 pm in with the bills figure as well as the £350 grocery etc. budget, it’s going to be tight!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -
