You can do the minimal packing
we went to florida for a fortnight with hand luggage. Came back with more but that was planned, we could have managed with the original stuff.

Happy anniversary, NG ❤️
I think I'd agree with Vix about the bikinis - not sure where you would wear one anyway, unless the flat has a roof terrace or a balcony?!?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!3 -
Thanks for the kind wishes everyone, don’t worry SC, I wouldn’t subject anyone to me in a bikini 😆 it’s turned pretty cold here today so I think I will ignore the forecast for next week, it doesn’t see to me like it’s likely to be as hot as they say.
We a lovely evening, dinner at bell@ italia, then ice cream after in the imax for the new Alien film , the perfect night! Total cost was a whopping £70 which dh paid for, considering we had the two course set menu and one drink each, then imax was only a £5 supplement on top of the passes instead of the £20 each and then the ice cream was 25% off, it would have been way dearer! I can’t believe how expensive a night out has got. We don’t ever go out in the evening anymore unless we are away and now I see why 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
I can’t sleep this evening, perhaps due to falling asleep earlier today, oops! We saw twister at the cinema this morning, we decided to go to the 4dx screening as ds2 recommended it for this film - it’s one of those ones that shakes you about and sprays water etc, it was quite good but felt a bit to much like a roller coaster for me sometimes 😆 plus the £5 supplement is annoying.I have not done much of a food shop for ages now, we are fine for tomatoes due to the vast amounts of very tiny ones we have grown this year, other than that it’s starting to get slim pickings, I’m keen to get to the end of the week as cheaply as possible still though so I can’t afford to be as lazy as usual, cooking has very much taken a back seat since my op.Managed a nice long video call with dd earlier, I can’t remember if I mentioned their house sale fell through, they have offered on another one now which I have to say I much prefer, an early century bay fronted terrace in a nearby town on a great tube line. Fingers crossed as it has a big garden too, so they can entertain us all in summer 😊MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁8

Oops just lost a long post , I think my iPad has a short attention span if I get distracted lately and shuts things down 😆
Today I’ve listed fourteen items on vinted, I have lots still knocking around that nobody wants on there from ages ago, hopefully new items will attract some attention, I’ve already had two offers and it’s been listed half an hour or so. So many things to sell though 😳
Today I’ve been pottering around, clearing the bedroom of bits and bobs that have built up, it’s had a clean and tidy up too and I’ve put more clothes into the eaves as there’s too many! Then it was a nice early dinner of nan bread “pizza” and salad with yet more tiny tomatoes, it’s much cheaper and healthier than shop bought and still qualifies as an I can’t be bothered diner for when i don’t want to make pizza from scratch.I’ve also read half a book today my friend lent me which I bought her for Xmas by Bob Mortimer which I’m loving, I’ve always loved him 😊 and there’s lots about his open heart surgery too which is interesting to read, it will tide me over until gone fishing returns.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Oooo I'll have to have a look for the Bob Mortimer book! I love gone fishing. Its one of my comfort programmes that I like to watch when I'm having a bad day as it always makes me giggle 🙂 I believe Ted the dog has a book coming out soon 🤣Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!3 -
I shall keep an eye out for at Ted’s book too then 😆 I finished the book today in the end, very nostalgic as my friend and I used to watch a lot of comedy in town in the early 90’s and I remember a few times waiting at the stage door to see Vic and Bob after a show 😂. Gone fishing is very much comfort TV, I also enjoyed watching all of The Detectorist’s again whilst I was recovering as that has the same feel, like a big warm hug 😊
Vinted update, five items sold tonight for a total of £39 🥳

I read bobs book And away. Funny. I think he is really funny (and handsome!) and gone fishing is also a fave in the daisy household

He’s lovely Daisy isn’t he, I must confess I ordered his first fiction book on Amazon (half the price of waterst0nes unfortunately) and got his new book from smiths at half price as a holiday treat 😊 I’ll be lending to a friend and wanted to keep them.I’ve given myself a holiday pep up, red nails and a hair trim all in my “home salon” 😆 I wonder how much I’ve saved since ditching the very blond highlights and nail extensions? When I last had highlights it was £125 and that was pre Covid - every six weeks 😱 now I have grown my hair I just paint on a few bits of bleach on the ends, very easy but only with longer hair so you can see what you are doing 😬
Food wise I’m still limping to Saturday with hardly any spending, bought a reduced pizza in M&S and had half last night and froze half for another, this is good for me as I could eat the whole thing, I’m trying to cut down and eat less as I’ve put on weight since the op, I’m sure it’s getting harder as I used to eat more! Some very good news this week my little brother had the results of his heart scan and it was fine 😊 I’m so happy for him, next it’s ds2 going Saturday, the other two have still not booked, I’ve been chasing them up and keep checking my credit card online but nothing booked still, both very busy 🙄 I can guarantee ds1 won’t be too busy to try for oasis tickets Saturday though! Is Any one else trying? I am 😬
Vinted has gone well this week, £66 worth sold which added to the vinted sales savings account is a total of £520.50, I want to do something special with it but still have lots to sell, I think if I manage to get an oasis ticket and can’t afford it from personal spends I shall use some of that, if not I will carry on saving for a break or holiday and just keep going!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7
