Good news about the move Helen.
You go to see so many plays Sugarbaby. I want to see To Kill a Mockingbird when Matthew Modine stars in it. I only remembered that last night. I read that at secondary school.
I had a nice day yesterday. We walked from our house to Cliffs Pavilion which is a local performing arts theatre. There was an artisan and craft fayre on. Everything looked lovely, but I didn't buy anything. I had hoped to see a person I follow on Instagram there as that was how I had heard about the fayre, but I didn't see him for some reason. We had lunch at a restaurant and then we went to a music quiz in London. We came first and our team got a bottle of sparkling wine as a gift. They gave it to me and my husband as we knew the most answers again.:) We did so much walking yesterday, almost 24,000 steps in a day! It was so foggy on the way home last night. I haven't seen fog that dense in years.
Liberty Lily - My husband likes Gary Numan, we went to see him at Cliffs Pavilion in 2019, funnily enough.

Wednesday, My DH saw him in Cardiff that year. This year it was Wembley! I've not seen GN since 2004/5...DH always encourages me to go - and I had a ticket for Wembley - but I usually can't be bothered (and am not keen on being in large crowds), lol! I don't think I've been to a concert/gig since seeing Muse in 2007 😉
Well done on your team winning the music quiz 😄
We spent the weekend removing the end window and bricking it up, then battening, plasterboarding....and painting (the fireplace - that was me!) I think we're going to run out of plasterboard so need to add that to the list. If only the person who had the extension built in 1999/2000 had used better builders we'd have not had to redo the walls internally. They made a complete pig's breakfast of everything they touched, it seems 😠 Even the window we removed was thrown together using various components from other windows attached back to front! I've never seem such an appalling bodge!
Hopefully we'll get the room to a usable state by mid Dec when we'll be putting our (real) tree up. I'm beyond excited at the prospect of having a functioning living room again more than a year after we began refabbing it 😁5 -
^ I saw Muse twice in 2019. I'm glad I did see so many bands that year after what happened in 2020.
Today I have been doing laundry, decluttering and then decided to put up my xmas tree and a few decorations as I ordered a white artificial tree and it was delivered today. I know it is early but I just felt like doing it.🥰 It is nice to have a real fireplace to put stockings up as I bought two little red and white ones from a chazzer today. Our old house had economy 7 heaters which were not very festive!
I need to tackle my airing cupboard this week as well as repainting the shed finally and I need to touch up some paint in the bathroom. My brother and his girlfriend are staying this weekend so I want to make sure the house looks presentable.2025 GOALS

I love hearing about your theatre trips Sugarbaby - you are lucky to be able to see such a wide variety and I really appreciate you giving them and the films you see a score. So much better than professional film critics who sometimes seem totally at odds with the general public in their likes and dislikes.6

Hello Ladies,
Yesterday afternoon I went to Streatham Odeon to watch the film Beast.I had a silver screen ticket which only cost me £3.50. This is an action-packed film with Idris Elba in the lead. I enjoyed the film, but there was a lot of gory violence which was hard to watch without me feeling a bit queasy. For me this film was an 8/10.
I got a free cup of tea that was worth £2.50.
Today I went to the second rehearsal of the Matinee Idols and Walnut Tree primary school choir. We practised a few of the carols we will be singing on 30th November. The school children seem to know the chosen carols a lot better than the adults. I presume they practised the carols together. Us adults, are practising on our own, in our own homes. I am not good at learning the lyrics, so I will have to have my carol sheets with me, on the day of the performance.

Hello Ladies,
Yesterday evening, I went to see the play Super High Resolution at the Soho Theatre. It is a play about a female junior doctor working in an NHS hospital. It shows how overworked she is and what a toll this takes on her daily life and how she suffers from incessant insomnia. She starts a relationship with a younger man, who is a relative of one of her patients, which is inadvisable if not strictly unethical. Her life completely unravels when her father dies, and she fails to get to his bedside before he dies. The audience were given lots of trigger warnings by Soho Theatre, because this play deals with some very dark issues. I really enjoyed the play, as I really cared about what was happening with the characters, especially the lead female character and her elderly patient who is trying to hide the fact that she is in such despair that she is suicidal. For me this play is a 9.5/10.I got my ticket that was worth £25.50 for a concession ticket for only £5.
When I was at the bus stop, I was approached by an older Black man. He wanted to say hello and ask me why he had not seen me at the Flower of Kent pub for so long. I just told him; I had been busy. He is one of the regulars from that pub, but I was surprised that he recognised me and stopped for a quick chat.6 -
I went to see Harry Hill at a local theatre last night. We ate at a pub beforehand and there was a 20% discount off our meals if we showed our tickets which was very good value.:) We also had some luck as we got the bus there as it was drizzling and the bus driver didn't have any change as we only had a tenner so he let the four of us ride on the bus for free!
Yesterday I also met a lovely lady from this forum beforehand at a Christmas fayre. She is the first person I have ever met from this forum. I got a very nice M&S bowl for £2 there that I'm using as a fruit bowl. We finally saw a bit of the local Belfairs woods and I want to go back there when I have more time and it is not such wet weather.
We have the concert at Cardiff this coming week which definitely was not money saving. There is a train strike on Saturday which means we have to come back one day earlier and we couldn't get a refund for our hotel room. We had to buy a new train ticket but will hopefully get the money refunded for that at least.
I need to dye my hair this week as my roots are shocking. The brown dye I used last time was a slightly different shade and it is annoying me every time I look in the mirror.
I'm about to go out for a roast dinner with my husband, brother and his girlfriend. It is finally not raining and the sun is out so we might go for a walk into old Leigh afterwards and maybe pick up some cake from a cafe we haven't tried yet. I'm not sure whether to watch the football this afternoon as the match doesn't sound particularly thrilling.2025 GOALS

Lots more super theatre and cinema outings there, Sugarbaby...and how nice of that man to remember you from the pub ☺️
Sounds like you've been having a lovely weekend with your house guests, Wednesday 😊
The huge DIY push continues here! After work DH has been spending a couple of hours each evening plasterboarding the extension whilst I've divided my time between sewing/ upholstery projects and finishing some painting - there was a door in the kitchen that needed a second coat as well as the reclaimed Arts and Crafts fire surround in the former snug that's going from Lamp Black to (the much lighter) Yeabridge Green and therefore needs several coats 😁
This weekend it's been more of the same....

Also diy-ing this weekend, as we had the builders tile our bathroom. We still need to decorate, but we can finally start using the bathroom. We need a final bit of motivation to get the rest of the decorating done before Christmas which is the stairs and landing and flooring.
