SIM-only or contract?

I'm thinking of getting an iPhone 13 Mini. I've been SIM-only for years as it's been the cheapest option for me. I came across a contract deal with iD Mobile for an iPhone 13 Mini:

The contract works out cheaper as the phone and minutes/texts/data are all included for £719.

Otherwise in comparison, the phone is £779 to buy from Apple. And with a cheap SIM-only contract of £10/month (for example) over 24 months (totalling £240), the total cost (phone + minutes/data/texts) works out as £1,019, so £300 more expensive than the contract option.

Not quite sure what to do. The contract works out cheaper but I'd be tied in for 2 years.

Not sure what advice you want, whether you really use 100gb p.m. and whether buying directly from Apple gives you any advantages, but I see the same sim-free phone available about £100 cheaper from other companies.
Also, what do iD say in the T&C about annual price rise in line with inflation? It can be as much as about 5% in just a few months.

Where have you seen the phone cheaper?

I didn't think of annual price rises. I'll look at their terms and conditions.

The going rate for that phone sim free seems to £679. e.g. Currys.
  • £679 is the price for the 128GB version, 256GB version is another 100 quid.
