Amex DD not taken

My Amex direct debit normally is credited to my account on the 27th and the direct debit leaves my current account on the 28th. Normally, weekends and bank holidays delay this by a day or two, but this month my Amex account has been credited, but my current account hasn't been debited yet (31st).

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, mine hasn't either. It's showing as being paid on the Amex app but not taken yet from my bank. It's odd but I suspect it'll come out soon.

I think the long Christmas weekend and the new year has delayed the payments. Maybe talk to someone at Amex using the live chat and see what's going on.

There's still a week or so before the payment is actually due.

Sounds normal. The fact it's been credited to your amex card shows that that they believe it's gone through ok, I would expect it to be taken out on Tuesday.

Mines showing as pending to debit in 4 days from now but has already credited to my AMEX card.

I find its not unusual for my Amex direct debit to be a day or two later than the statement says. I suspect with the Christmas period, the computers are probably a bit slow

Same here. I would have assumed the systems are automated like most of the other DD's

I'm glad I've found this thread.

My AMEX account shows that the payment was made on the 27th December and the new balance shows accordingly.  Yet, no payment has actually left my bank account!

Don't worry - it's pending and will come out.

But have you got a reduced available balance?
