Best/cheapest SIPP/ISA providers for monthly ETF investing

Gents/Ladies,

Happy holidays. Looking to invest a monthly sum into a number of ETFs through my SIPP and/or ISA each month for a couple of years. Which providers are the cheapest for continuous investing into ETFs? The dealing charges add up each month per ETF.

Thanks much

Thanks, checked Freetrade, but they do not offer many ETFs (ones I want to invest in). Would be helpful to hear from experiences in terms of frequent low-cost ETF investing.

Best or cheapest?   You are unlikely to find a platform that ticks both boxes.

For a S&S ISA then the cheapest is InvestEngine who have no ongoing/trade charges provided you are happy with their limited selection although they do not have a proven business model yet the client assets should still be segregated but may take some time to recover if the provider fails.
For a SIPP then Vanguard at 0.15% ongoing it you are happy with their limited selection of own ETFs.

Fair enough. Think mix of range of ETFs, dealing cost, potential monthly savings plan and FCA regulation / low odds of provider being shut.

Thanks, find their fixed costs quite high. Checking InvestEngine and their selection.

Do you mean Vanguard's capping at £375 pa on £250k+? Yes I agree its high so if you have that much in ETF(s) then consider Fidelity who cap at £45 pa and charge £1.50 per trade on a regular investment plan.

This guy provides a desk work for you doing comparison, for various SIPP platform, that will help you to make decision. In general, if you just invest lower than £100k either lumpsum or monthly regular until you reach £100k+ Vanguard is the cheapest. Thi is with the assumption that you use their ETF batch dealing, so not instant dealing. The only limitation is the number of funds that you could select.

Similarly this lady also provides a desk work for you comparison which include Free Trade. It will safe your time pulling all infomation.

Did the maths and for regular (monthly), diversified global ETF investing via an ISA ended up with 5 providers:
    - ii
    - Freetrade (cheapest)
    - iweb
    - Vanguard (own products only)
    - Invest Engine (not sure about fixed fees yet)

If anyone had a bad experience for the same investing proposition, would be very helpful to understand. Thanks
  • i think it is important to also look at customer service and simplicity as well as the costs.
