NHS App - evidence of vaccination

28 Posts

I am looking to travel abroad shortly. I know I will be asked to provide evidence of my covid shots at the local bars and restaurants. I got myself registered onto the NHS Vaccine status app. However, all I got back was a scan code, that I imagine someone with the right software can scan and it will provide them the information about my vaccine status.
However, it doesn't provide me any document that states i have had both my jabs. Say if I were to go to a bar in the US - how would I provide them evidence of my vaccine status from an official source? I am sure the bar wont be able to read the scancode i have been given by the NHS

I’ve travelled to Spain and Cyprus and in both places either document was accepted as proof of vaccination.

There are 2 types of letters:
Both types of Covid pass letters are only valid for 30 days. ( As fully vaccinated people can still catch Covid - , if this happens you won’t be able to get another letter until you have recovered )

Those who need it for travel purpose need to apply around a fortnight before departure as it can take 7 days to get and you will need it for entry to another country and for return to U.K.
my 3 jabs (and LfTs) are under there.
