Threatening another management company over a pot hole?

Or the residents could take matters into their own hands and fill it in themselves.
This sounds no different to a private Row. The servient owner (management company) need not do anything but the dominant owners (residents) have the right to make repairs if they so wish.0 -
I'll send another with proof of postage, thanks.Grey_Critic said:Send it recorded delivery - should at some point you, or someone be injured due to the intransigence of the Landlord/Managing Agent and a court case ensue then it would be accepted as proof they had been told about the possible danger.
Basically there are two blocks of flats (of six) with separate managing companies. I own my flat and we all have a share in the leasehold so we run our own management companies, that is why the other management company don't care because they don't live in any of the flats, just rent them out.[Deleted User] said:OP, do you own your flat?
If so, presumably you pay the management company a fee. Maybe withholding payment would get their attention.
If not, your first port of call should be your landlord, since he has the relationship with the management company.
So we can't withhold any management fee, I think it may be best if I write letters to all of the residents in that block to moan to their letting agent about the pot hole. Then they will have letting agents asking multiple questions.0 -
We considered this but where the land doesn't belong to us (it's owned by the other block of flats) then we would be liable for any damage caused as a result of the hole being filled. Hypothetically if we used coal tar and then the coal tar damaged a vehicle, we would have to pay for the damage.unforeseen said:Or the residents could take matters into their own hands and fill it in themselves.
