The most obvious explanation is that someone awarded you the wrong amount, the cheque was issued and at some point between it being issued and presented, it was cancelled.
You must have a rough idea of what you're actually owed. Is it anywhere near 5k? That sort of payout is usually awarded to people with several thousand borrowed over a period of many years, way outside of catalogue spend levels.2 -
My spend was quite high to be fair but we are talking about twenty years ago when I was a customer. I remember the ppi was a ridiculous amount within my monthly payment. I vaguely remember it being £134 one month.

Clearly the issuer of the cheque has cancelled it for some reason. We can do a back and forth forever over it and get no closer to figuring out exactly why. You need to speak to Allianz and ask them what's happening.
As I've said, my best guess would be the amount is incorrect, but there could be any number of other reasons.2 -

It's almost as if this story was not true.2 -
PPI was typically around 80p-£1 per £100 of debt so if £134 was from PPI charges alone, that would mean owing over £13k on the card which is a horrible situation to be in
@meeshap2399 the Beavis case may be irrelevant here as you already had a full refund of your PPI - that was only an issue when you had a partial refund and the commission was over 50% but wasn't included.
