By the way, I am not a wind up. I am just quite silly when it comes to DIY and scared to get it wrong as my parents will really get angry at me if I cause cracks or damages in the wall! I am trying to learn DIY so I am doing it myself and trying not to ask them... which I could and probably should now!1

Hi,did you watch the wee video link I gave you for Command strips/hooks, you stick them on, then when you want to remove, peel off, no marks left, an no holes/cracks to cover up.0

Yes, I watched the video and everything, I found them quite cool. I was just scared that the photo might fall down on its own lol. But yeah, I might get them actually as I am planning to frame two more photos soon, so I might try with them first.1 -
Hi,good, they can hold a fair weight, though depending on size/weight of picture, you might need more than one sticker.1

Yeah, this is what I was thinking - hence I thought I'll look into it further in my next frame hangup, or this one if I can't get my head around the drilling and everything![Deleted User] said:Hi,good, they can hold a fair weight, though depending on size/weight of picture, you might need more than one sticker.1 -
I've not watched the video so apologies if this is covered. My experience of command hooks having used them a fair bit in my workplace (drilling into the walls somewhat frowned upon…) is that the quality ones do last if put up carefully (follow the instructions to the letter!) and are not overloaded. We use 3M (other quality options may be available) and hand sanitiser is great for preparing the surface.SavingStudent1 said:

There are no other options for "Command" hooks - it's a 3M registered trade mark. https://trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmcase/page/Results/1/UK00002023558daivid said:

Another alternative if you want to do without the drilling are "hardwall" hangers. They are made of plastic, and have 3 or 4 little pins going through them. Place the hanger on the wall, so that the hook is pointing up, and whack the pins with a hammer until they are all the way in.This is an American website, but is shows the things I mean: https://offthebroiler.com/hardwall-hangers/If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -

Very true. Other brands of removable adhesive hooks are available, though I don't know which (if any) are up to the job.1 -
Hi everyone,
One last question if that is alright. I was just wondering, when buying a wall plug, do you guys look for the type and what difference do they make?
By that I mean, if we are buying a red wall plug, then they come in different sort of shapes, some with two wings out etc.. when would one type be more useful over another?
For example, here are 4 types:
https://www.screwfix.com/p/easyfix-wall-plugs-6-x-100-pack/13209
https://www.screwfix.com/p/fischer-plastic-wall-plugs-6-x-30mm-300-pack/41044
https://www.screwfix.com/p/rawlplug-uno-wall-plug-6-x-28mm-300-pack/44708
https://www.screwfix.com/p/rawlplug-plastic-plugs-6-x-35mm-100-pack/35984
I've got the bottom two types, I bought them last week. But, I was just thinking of the different types and when one would choose one over the other? - assuming the dimensions are the same, e.g. length, thickness and everything.0
