on gas prices moving forward... and what to do, and how to keep them down. The shell app has been useless up to now and this forum keeps coming up in searches hence the interestJJ_Egan said:(I've come looking for advice on the astronomical energy prices)What advice ??You cannot keep gas prices down .You may be able to cut your usage and lower bill .Monthly meter readings are a must in keeping on track .You may be able to find a better tariff , but very unlikely at present .Shell app use a web browser instead , though the app will only enable you to keep track .0 -
Yeah I get I can't affect the price of gas that would be amazing. I do keep getting emails from take care or my bills, is it worth waiting for them?0

Expect gas prices of approx 10p/unit.2. Expect electric prices of approx. 40p/unit3. Reduce your consumption of gas and electric to keep costs down. Turn your thermostat down, start wearing a jumper if you don't do so already instead of t-shirt and shorts. Use less energy hungry devices such as electric heaters, tumble dryers, etc. Change your lighting to LED, etc, etc.0 -

Forngas prices to reach 10p a kw from what I pay now at 3.3p that is nearly a 190% increase, people would go mad if it went up to that, I'm expecting to pay about 40p kW for electric though.0 -
Look After My Bills (LAMB) , Bill Buddy etc do nothing that you can't do with a little effort yourself with the advantage is that you get to understand your bills and where and when the energy is being used.jimrobbo2 said:Yeah I get I can't affect the price of gas that would be amazing. Mose people on variable rates are expecting to pay over 7p/kWh from the 1st of April, and (as Astria says) there are fixed rates on offer well in excess of 10p/kWh.On the other hand, 40p/kWh electricity is a fair way off yet.N.
