Still going to read the article though 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!3 -
So this week's money-saving/making actions were:
* £6.10 received in interest on my savings pots
* £5.94 received from TopCashBack. Raised a claim for yet another transaction which hasn't tracked
* £5.44 received from Prolific
* £10.00 gift card received from Consumer Pulse
* £5.00 gift card received from the forum about savings I've been involved in. I think this is the last one of these now, as they're shutting it down
* £5.00 of Nectar points cashed-in at Sainsbury's. The woman on the till was horrified that I wasn't using them for something exciting like wine, however I had been equally horrified that 500ml of (own-brand) olive oil, a loaf of (own-brand) bread and a tub of (you guessed it, own-brand, gravy granules) had come to £5.25 😱 - so it seemed like points well-spent to me!
In other news, my electricity supplier has confirmed that my direct debit is now set at £0.00, which feels extremely surreal, and is the first time I won't be paying for electricity every month since I left home in 2001. Not sure quite what to say/feel about that, so again I'll just leave it there and not ruminate further here.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone 😀Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

@South_coast - I'm (very) late to the party but would also ask that you keep on doing what you do with the diary. Yes, you're different to a lot of the other diaries. Yes, you've had a bit of luck, fortuitous timing or decision making etc. To get here. Who hasn't? The boards would be very boring if everyone just wrote about meal planning and their last OP, it's important to read about and road test different ideas on our journeys7

Thanks Ed, that means a lot 😀
With that in mind, I can reveal that I paid £13.71 into my ISA last night, which was the money I had left in my pots ahead of payday (still a couple of days to go, so hopefully I haven't forgotten something I need again 😳) Some more will be going in on payday as well, may as well do some speculation with the current market turmoil!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone 😀DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
