If it helps any, uni-peaty did manage to buy second hand text books but within a week or two lost her bus pass and had to use the saved money on a replacement. I found it at the end of the year under a dvd box. Must have really loved watching that dvd, definitely not a total waste in moving it to and from uni!

Apparently the kitchen planner from IKEA is good if you haven't tried it already.
  • Sounds like the elves are messing in your kitchen ;)

Yes my 20s/30s LaPlan seriously spent also ! However shoes that are fabulous and comfy ... are worth repairing ...
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

They weren't really that comfy 🤣! That's interesting about IKEA, KP. Is it online, or do you need to go in?

So last night's dreaming was slightly less random - no dogs, and did at least include people I know (assorted members of BF's family, Gordon Ramsay - ironically, not in a kitchen - and a man that's been in a couple Midsomer Murders episodes. So, more accurately, some that I "know of", rather than "know" 🤣). Gordon Ramsay was demonstrating a technique that if you gave someone a great bear hug and pushed hard down from the top of their back it would loosen phlegm (🤷‍♀️), and then later on I looked at a clock which was displaying 2:60 and puzzling that surely that was 3:00?

It’s online and I’d second that it’s really good - we used it to design our kitchen. It does have some hilarious rules though (which can be overridden) - like having a certain amount of gap between the open drawers of facing cabinets. Our kitchen is only wide enough to have them open on one side at a time!

What’s your kitchen like? Small, big, long, square? We might be able to help!

    That is good stuff!! 😁

Don’t know about your budget/windows obviously but did you know you can get hobs with downward extraction - so you can have in front of a window (my friend has just had one fitted - it’s brilliant!).

I've just ordered one of these for our new kitchen as the hob will be set in worktop below a beam and upward extraction is not possible so it's good to hear that feedback!
