Ooh, potato cakes! Lovely. Foggy, soggy and vile ... not so much2023: the year I get to buy a car7

I manage to time my sons prescriptions so that I push in the extra. After all there are 13 monthly (actually 28 days) per year. So I bring forward each one a day or so depending on the date (re weekends too) then at the end he has a gap & I reorder later & get a new cert at the same time.

Sounds like an excellent strategy badmemory!
I know what else I forgot to mention from today - clubcard vouchers! I had a pile sat in my purse and finally remembered when I was actually in Tesco, only to find that two had expired 🙄 I only lost £3, but even so, most annoying. Still, I did use the remaining £5 worth.
I remember looking if there was anything I wanted to use them on that meant we got more... but there was nothing that we would have had anything, and nothing that we actually wanted, so concluded using them in the shop was best - but we only have a petrol station Tesco here and don't go to it very often, and I forgot.
Anyway, done now, and all goes towards keeping going through March without taking out of premium bonds, so...8 -

I’ve just changed our two about to expire clubcard vouchers into Pizza Express ones a few days ago…
I have regular prescriptions but rather irregularly, so rather than use an annual certificate which would probably result in me spending more, I tend to get a three monthly one a couple of times a year, and squeeze at least four, and sometimes five prescriptions out of it by bunching them up a bit. Not a method that would work for someone who has them more often though.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Look at you lot with all your prescription tactics! 😂😂 In all likelihood I probably won't be doing any of those - mine are free anyway as I have a medical exemption, and Mr Cheert's are a bit too haphazard for such feats of organisation. I'm very impressed at you lot though!
Darn it, never occurred to me to exchange vouchers - although I don't know if I could have changed anyway once I'd already printed them off. Never mind!
Sorry you fell into a puddle beanie, how rotten. I've still not properly warmed up but at least I'm not wet. Hope you're warm and dry now x9 -

I've just looked and found the Prescription Age consultation that was run last year (closed on 2nd Sept 2021). In my experience (such as it is) it typically takes a few (to many) months after a consultation to bring forward a White Paper, from which legislation will be developed. It quotes the legislation that would need amendment and all the reasons why it is a bad idea. Given our Government is mid term I don't personally think they would risk alienating more potential Tory voters this close to their re-election ambitions. Let us hope if they do do something, it is Option B (leave those already receiving free prescriptions alone and don't take it away again).
