Fortune x8 -
Happy house anniversary.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend with friends.
We have had a lovely week, first, we meet up with one set of friends for a day, who we haven't seen in nearly 4 years initially because of health problems and then the pandemic, followed later in the week with 2nd set of friends staying for a couple of days again we haven't met in person since 2019. So very good for the soul to be relaxing in good company.
I like the colour you have painted the kitchen, very cheery 😊Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Thank you all 😊😊 BB, glad you got some time in with your friends! Yes, things have been rather disrupted haven't they? We have people we've not seen for a long time as well.
Friends have gone now, they stayed up much later than me 😂 we have a nice leisurely morning of pancakes and tea, then they loaded up some of our woodchip mountain for their allotment.
Band rehearsal this evening, so I'm having a play, having not played at all for weeks, since the last rehearsal, and before that not for months 🙄 Doesn't help that I don't have the actual music 🙄 But I can already feel it getting a little less rusty after half an hour, so clearly I just need to play *something* more often 🙄
I thought I might do some more painting today, but perhaps not - maybe a bit more oiling of the skirting board though??
We're off to see Mr Cheery's dad tomorrow and my time off will go by in a flash if I'm not careful.14 -
What do you play Cheery?
I was trying to learn to play the flute but had to admit to just not having the time atm.KKAs at 15.07.25:

Flute 😁😂 I learned at school and got up to grade 7 before I left. A few years ago I picked it up again and did grade 8 on my 30s 😂😂 Now I barely pick it up between fortnightly rehearsals but I really should because it's far more fun when you don't feel bumbling and incompetent 😂11

I also like the colour of your kitchen Cheery, it looks very jolly. I'm glad that you had a good time with friends and hope that the visit to Mr Cheery Snr went well.
I didn't put weight on during lock-down, probably because I am very inactive anyway. Cafes being closed for some of the time probably helped on that score too!
Don't know if I said that Mr hb had an ankle replacement 2 weeks ago? Today was something of a 'Red letter day' as he was able to have a shower now that he is out of plaster and we went out for tea and cakeIt's not difficult!
'Wander' - to walk or move in a leisurely manner.
'Wonder' - to feel curious.9 -
Ooh, an excellent way to celebrate a non-whiffy Mr Hb! 😁😁😂😂 Hope you had a lovely time!
Urgh, I do NOT feel rested this morning 🙄 Woke at 5 and just dozed fitfully after that, having had some horrid dreams. Got up to let the chickens out (which I'll do in a second) and then I'm getting back on the sofa for a nap before we leave 🙄8 -
Ahh sorry you had a rubbish nights sleep - a sofa nap sounds like just the plan. Hope the day at Mr C's Dad's goes OK and that you're now "getting there" with all that needs doing.
It's amazing that it's 4 years since you moved in! In some ways it feels like you've been there forever, and in others it's passed in a flash, from the outside, anyway!
The time with your friends sounded lovely - and another vote from here for making the time you're off lovely and restful and restorative!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thank you! Still don't feel that rested 😂 but we're here now, and Mr Cheery has taken his dad to screwfix so I'm having a nice sit down and cuppa with the dog 😂
Yes, we're getting there, although still a long way to go. Some of the urgency has gone now the initial things have been done, and so we can do a bit more general hanging out and visiting than we were doing at the start. I'm painting windowframes today, and Mr Cheery will be putting shelves up when he gets back.
End of the month, so premium bonds draw! Best keep the phone on for Agent Million 😁😂😂 Mr Cheery's pension will have been paid in today too, so I'll have a nice round up later i think.14 -
Afternoon MSE chums!
No phone call from Agent Million, and I don't appear to be on the list of high value winners either 🙄 hey ho.
I am having a nice day though 😁 Gloriously sunny here, and not too cold. We started the day in the cafe, and I read a book, an actual book, for the first time in ages 😂 My head feels like it's been so full for months, but finally there is a bit of space.
Then dropped Mr Cheery off, back out again for a smear test, which I have to say was the most unobtrusive one I've ever had, barely felt it! Home for lunch, and then the weather was just SO nice I headed back out for a walk. Relatively local, but somewhere I've not been for years and years, certainly not since moving out here. Walked for 3 miles, but rather hilly and windy ones, and then had a hot chocolate in a new (to me) cafe nearby. Most pleasing 😁
Home now, and Mr Cheery us out for a few hours so I need a plan 😁
* make tea (pasta bake, including a couple of portions for the freezer)
* end of Feb financial shuffling
* end of Feb blog post
* hang washing up
* put chickens to bed
* nice long bath
* Call the Midwife
That'll probably do 😁
Off work again tomorrow. Going swimming first thing, and then I think oiling the skirting and finishing the last couple of bits of painting in the bedroom - hoping we can move in there in March!
Right - best get the oven on.11
