Looks ace! Our kitchen ended up a slightly different shade to what was in my head, but it’s quite grown on me now to be honest.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Still a way to go yet, but it is looking a lot closer with the walls painted 😂😂😂
Not that I've finished yet, mind you. Still got one large wall and a fiddly tiny one with pipes on, and there's another bit of wall round the window i can't do yet cos there's a big wet patch where the rain came in last week that's not dried out yet 🙄
Still, I've got a nice deadline to ork towards as apparently we're having people round for a dinner party tomorrow, and apparently they're staying over 😮😂😂
Mr Cheery reckons it's only going to take a couple of hours to tidy up and get ready - but I suspect that will be AFTER I've done the painting, cleaned the bathroom, washed bedding, and tidied up my study, and decided what we're eating, so... 🙄😂😂
Might have to just make do with the one coat of paint before then... 😂9 -
Ok.... a little bit more to do then... But that's what I hate about decorating/renovating - there's always more to do!
Enjoy your dinner party.... Mr Cheery sounds like Mr TMV..... no concept of the million other jobs that need to be done! 🙄Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

You're a woman, you can stir paint at the same time as you stir tea! Put the kettle on & chop veg.

Fortunately our friends are the sort who will happily sleep on a mattress on the floor in a room full of junk, and muck in making their own tea, so no big crisis 😂😂 I just like to have some semblance of order when I'm hosting if possible!7

It's lovely Cheery - very like the colour we have in our living room. Warm and glowing.

So, painting finished for today. Just the bit with the damp patch left now, and a second coat for most of the rest of the room (not tomorrow though). It's made a lovely difference and was absolutely the right thing to do today 😊😊
Two out of four friends have confirmed for tomorrow, and they won't be here til 7 so plenty of time 😂 if the other two don't come that will make life easier - these two can sleep on the sofa bed in my study, and while it needs a bit of a tidy in there, it doesn't need anything drastic. Going to pop out to Aldi for a few bits tonight, but not anything fancy - I think we'll do paella, salad, some nice bread or something.
Healthy eating going well - when I stood on the scales this morning I'd lost 2lbs since Tuesday. Done 5000 steps each day too - going to build it up but that's enough for now12 -
Finally had our energy statement this afternoon. We're increasing from about £831.56 to £1177.57 a year, so from £69 to £98 a month, an increase of £29. We currently pay £72 and we're in credit, but not by that much, so our DD will likely increase, but it's nowhere near the crisis it could have been.
Our gas is more expensive though, so it remains to be seen what will happen there, as we just pay per tank, not per month. Due a delivery at the end of the week, and I'd hope they'd charge at our previously quoted price rather than adding an increase after the order was made...14 -
Looks very homely and has a country feel, you should be proud!
I gained weight due to WAH for nearly 2 years, no trips to the printer or another floor for the ladies, just sat down all day. New place is all one level, but I do several little steps a day.
Have you looked into a contract with your oil supplier, perhaps try in summer when prices might be more favourable.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.9
