Morning 😊
What you are describing as your head space due to the strike days reminds me of me when I was on furlough during lockdown. The uncertainty of the whole situation plus being on my own so much (Mr KK worked throughout) meant I became quite confuddled.You are the Queen of productive lists though, so you will be straightened out and organised in no time, and probably too busy to go back to work once the strikes are resolved! 😉😂
Any sign of movement in the negotiations?

Cheery_Daff said:Bit of a lazy one today. Watched a film this morning after letting the chickens out early, quite an indulgence 😂 Then we popped to a nearby town for some errands, and had dinner in a supermarket cafe - £11.35 for two veggie sausage butties, two drinks and two shortbread biscuits, so not too bad.
That sounds seriously good, I have buttie envy 🌭
I'm going to create a bit of a plan for strike days - there are plenty of things that have been just stagnating for a while, and I'd like to get some of them off the ground.
Not tonight though!2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Ha, yes I miss being able to do rainbow coloured lists on here! 😂
I can well imagine a plan is needed when faced with longer term uncertainty or lack of structure. Mr Cheery reckons I'd hate retirement but I know full well I'd fill my days with enough to make me wonder how I ever had time for work 😂
No great plans for strike days so far. We're going to see Mr Cheery's dad on Wednesday, and there's a chance we might go back another day to fit the laminate floor, but we'll see. We might have visitors over the weekend (rescheduled from last weekend), and I have a couple of musical rehearsals.
In terms of what I'd like to get done... outdoors will depend on the weather, but...
OUTSIDE
* make a proper plan for chicken run and assemble materials
* get posts cut and into ground! I can't do this alone, but once it's done I can attach the mesh on my own if necessary.
* clear out greenhouse ready for planting
* fix greenhouse window - can't do this on my own either as it needs to be held from inside and outside at the same time 🙄😂
INSIDE
* clear clothes and bedding away from craft room
* wash bedding for visitors
* get table upstairs to craft room
OTHER THINGS
* couple of blog posts
* visit at least one new nature reserve
* cross one thing off my annual list (might be booking a day out for the summer, or visiting a factory that does open days, or something as simple as finally ordering some kefir grains 😂)
Overall I just want to feel like I've made a teesy bit of progress...9 -
Oooh Cheery, would you like me to send you some grains? I have just strained my kefir and was thinking that I’m getting to the point that I don’t need as many as I have. Have put more milk in now, but happy to send you some when I next strain it.
Not sure if you use Facebook, but there’s a really useful group on there called UK Fermenting Friends. If you’d rather not have my grains (I won’t be offended ), you can always ask on there and people send for the cost of postage - that’s where I got mine from. Really good info/help/advice for all sorts of fermenting available there.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ooh, I'd love some of your grains if you're willing to part with them, thank you! Will send you a message later, just about to dash into a meeting. Thank you!5 -

Sent you a message - I haven't been in a meeting all night, I promise! 😂
I am going to be in a meeting all day today though, and I haven't read everything I should have so am going to have a busy 90 minutes... 😱
More snow today, very pretty this time rather than disruptive and ridiculous.
Today is going to be a ridiculous one. Quick shower and breakfast then catching up on meeting prep, meeting is 9.15 til 4.45 (with breaks) - well run and keeps to time, and has a very specific agenda so it actually usually feels positive rather than draining. Then nipping to collect flute from the menders at tea time, and then there are a couple of things I do need to get finished before the strike as they can then be passed on to other people (outside of universities) to be getting on with stuff.
Will need a rest tomorrow, rather than a trip to Mr Cheery Snr! Definitely planning a relatively lazy one for Thursday.12 -
That is an utterly stunning picture! 😍
I hope the meeting goes well and you get to relax at some point!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

What a gorgeous picture - pretty rather than disruptive snow is definitely a winner!
Hopefully your day with Mr C Snr today has been OK and not too stressful.
