Don't think I'm capable of actually running anywhere at the minute anyway 😂😂

Had a lovely time with my friend, a good catch up, and a bit of flute playing, most jolly 😊 Not going to be doing much else for the rest of the day now though 🙄😂 Back to work tomorrow, Mr Cheery's coming with me so at least I won't have to drive in both directions.

    Morning MSE chums 😊

Goodness me it's raining here today! Hope those water butt's are being nicely replenished 😊

Nothing for us on the premium bonds 😠 But a lovely £65 on the Happy wheel, bringing August's total to £76 - not bad for 2 days in! Wonder how much of it i can lose over the next few weeks?? 😂

Right, best get up - meant to be leaving in 15 mins...

Evening chums, hope you've had a cheerful day 😊

Full day at work for me, and driving both ways, and out for tea, and while I'm tired now, I don't feel like I've overdone it, so that's progress 😊

Went to a friend's for tea, but she's had covid too (but with children to look after), so we ended up going out for a pizza, so £13 spent on mine.

What else? Washed and hung out the running kit for the specialist charity shop, so can take that at the weekend. Dinner is ready for tomorrow- could do with making breakfast though, somehow that seems easier the night before, even if it is just yogurt, fruit, and oats 😂

Mr Cheery just found a 20ftx8ft greenhouse for free on the Internet..  and I am fighting myself NOT to agree to go and get it 🙄😂 Where am I going to put the damn thing?! I HATE levelling ground - how much cursing would I have to do while levelling that much space?! I do NOT need any more projects right now!! 😮

    Morning chums 😊

Working at home today, and the last day before a fortnight off! Most exciting. Not feeling at my brightest but will carry on.

Got someone coming out this afternoon to change a couple of tyres on the bigger car, got a bit of a discount so not too bad. I opted for an all day slot as it was free - but they've now said they'll be here between 3.30 and 7.30 so that means we don't have to worry til then (although it does mean they'll likely get lost and ring me while I'm still in my single meeting of the day...)

Nothing else to report. Happy wheel down £12.99 🙄 so I think sitting at about £55 for August now. Prolific dosh still not tracked, yawn.

Going to order Mr Cheery a credit card on my Amex account - there's £5 cashback for it, and it means he can be racking up meagre cashback on diesel and food as well as me - it all helps, even if it's about 35p a week 😂 We ended up with over £100 last year, but that involved buying all the kitchen appliances, which obviously we won't be doing again!

Right, best get my act together 🙄 Had a couple of long days - driving to work, in the office all day, then to see friends after work - so I'm glad to be gearing up for some time off!

Tyres people have been and gone. Very nice - but informed me a third tyre is close to the limit, and my front brake pads are nearly worn through 🙄 So it's going to have to go to the garage anyway - although I've just rung the garage and they can't fit us in for a fortnight 🙄 Still, at least it's booked in (and it confirmed my decision to get these two tyres done by the mobile people!)

In my head the MOT was due in September, so I figured I might book it at the same time, but I just checked and it's not due til October so at least that can wait a bit.

    Yawn.

Right, last flurry of work before I finish!

Ha, so much for that. Worked for a bit, then the farmer turned up for a chat, then I nipped out for an hour, and ended up working for another 1.5 hours when I got back and didn't finish til 9.30. Most unsatisfying!

Did have an exciting little interlude in the middle of the evening. The nice woman in the village shop invited me to a little training session they were running to encourage people to get involved in the well dressing. I had a go once about 20 years ago when I lived in another village, but haven't done it here. Apparently it's often left to a couple of people and they're trying to rope in a few extra pairs of hands..

It was cheerful! I met someone I'd met before who thought had moved away (she had, but then moved back 😂) and it was good to see how things fit together. Came away wanting to create a tiny well dressing in the garden as a practice - must investigate where I can get hold of some clay (I'm very near the potteries, so you'd think it would be easy!)

Anyway, here's a link if you don't know about well dressing

    https://www.cpre.org.uk/discover/well-dressing-an-ancient-art/

And here's our experimental creations - obviously the real thing will be far more artistic!

Thanks Beanie 😊 There are some beautiful ones around!

Another long day today - I'm not doing very well on the 'resting' front 🙄 Five hours round trip to Mr Cheery's dad's, where I spent the afternoon  painting the ceiling, along with other more mundane chores. Just got back in now 🙄

Tomorrow we have not one, but two seta of visitors - family in the day, who may help with a bit of gardening, which will be good, and then friends coming later for an evening of hanging round and staying over 😊😊 All very lovely, although again, not much actual resting...

First visitors due about 11 tomorrow, so before then I'd like to

    * do a flylady home blessing hour - the place is reasonably in order, so a very quick whizz of hoover, dust, mop, emptying bins etc will be fine
    * make a simple cake of some kind
    * maybe wash and hang out some bedding (depending on the temperature and whether i think it'll dry before the visitors get here)
    * prep for dinner - just chopping a bit of salad etc so I don't have to do it later

Might also spend 15 mins restoring some order to the new bedroom - friends haven't been since we did the kitchen so it'll be nice to show the the result, and it's become a bit of a dumping ground for clothes and bedding - shouldn't take long to at least make neater piles 🙄😂
