Hey Cheery!I’ve just found you have a whole new diary that I don’t think I’ve even taken a peek at! So sorry! I hope you’re ok. Just saw you pop up on another thread, and it reminded me how much I love reading your adventures. So that’s my train reading for today, to catch up on all 131 pages!6

Hi Cheery
Sounds like you had a fabulous weekend. How lovely for you both to be able to let your hair down and have a relaxing time.
Well done with the Happy Wheel. You certainly do seem to have the knack for it I must say.

Hello all, and thank you! Missy, long time no see! Nice to have you around 😊 and edwink, there's no special skill at all, pure chance!
I'm at a work event all week, nice to be out of the routine, and out of the office, but it does involve driving every day (and is only a mile from the office so still a two hour round trip). Today I realised I was in high danger of eating biscuits all week - there are pastries on arrival, biscuits available all day, and lunch is sandwiches, salad, and potato wedges - fairly innocuous itself but those biscuits are lethal 😂
I've packed myself a selection of fruit and wholesome snacks, plus some nice herbal teabags (I'm FAR less likely to dip a biscuit in a herbal tea!!)
I helped organise the darn thing - I'm sure in previous years we had fruit and a better dinner 😂😂 But I don't remember choosing a menu this time - I suspect we just chose a similar cost to last year, assuming it would be roughly the same...
Anyway nothing else to report. Monday Finances day but I confess I didn't do anything. I'm still tired from the weekend and hormonally grumpy 🙄 Mr Cheery made noodles for tea, we went for a wander out to the road and back, got stuff ready for tomorrow, watched a bit of TV, and now I'm back in bed.
Main thing on the finances list this week is paying the garage bill - it's £85 ish and the money is there, just need to transfer it.
Right, snoozing!8 -
What a lovely sounding weekend - and so good to recharge the social interaction batteries a little - I do absolutely understand your comment about so many people being a little overwhelming though!
Sounds very much like the venue for the event have downgraded the standard of their food while leaving the costs the same doesn't it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Yep, that's definitely the conclusion we came to! Hey ho - we should have clarified... and to be fair, the invoice does list the food...
Never mind - I've just had a weekend of indulgence and don't need an entire week of pastries, hot dinners and puddings to contend with as well 😂6 -
Evening MSE chums 😊
Another acceptable day at the work event, and I popped to see a friend for a cuppa afterwards, and she made me some food too, so that was nice.
Tackled a bit of a dragon today - I've been putting off making a docs appointment but finally got round to ringing up today. I'm normally not bad at these things, but this is an underlying set of 'are they there or am I imagining things' issues - I've finally decided I'm not imagining things, and now have an appointment- not for another month, mind you 🙄 but still, feeling better now it's in the diary, and that gives me time to monitor how things change.
Nothing else to report I don't think. Not spent anything today.
Tomorrow is a bit of a faff. We're travelling together so Mr Cheery can continue on to see his dad, but I have a dentist appointment at 9am, which means setting off super early- I was 3 mins late once after getting stuck in traffic and they wouldn't see me so I'm taking no chances 🙄 aiming to leave at 7am 🙄 which means we'll probably miss rush hour, and I'll be stuck sitting on a wall outside the dentist for an hour - there's not even a cafe near there that will be open at that hour.
I've got a 90 min appointment to start the work for my bridges, and then have to get back to the other side of town for work event - likely in a taxi, as I stupidly forgot about all this, so didn't leave laptop charger, keyboard etc at the event venue 🙄 I might feel moved to walk, but after 90 mins in the dentist it's likely I won't... 🙄
Hey ho, I'm sure it'll all work out fine...5 -
