Our two T3sco filling stations were both at 198.9 at the weekend - which is currently more expensive than two of our "big names" the two on the way into/out of the town from the motorway which traditionally are the benchmark by which those of us that know where to go in the area grasp what is "expensive"! Assuming that things price-wise remain the same until tomorrow evening I may even treat MrEH's car to a tank of Sh3ll on the way home!
What a pain about the gym too - of course, allowing that you've cancelled the direct debit, they might struggle to actually get their £20...!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ours was a Mr M supermarket at 195.9 - similar to you, Mr T was 198.9. Haven't been past my usual expensive benchmark for a few days, that's probably over 200 by now...
I did point out that I hadn't actually cancelled the DD - they must have done! I've certainly had no conversation with the bank. If they've managed to cancel their own DD without cancelling membership, I think they need to pay more attention! 😂😂7 -

Morning MSE chums 😊
The sun is shining - and I have a 6 hour Zoom meeting 🙄 I just went out to let the chickens out and it was SO lovely out there. I'm half contemplating setting up the laptop in the garden - but it's quite an important meeting and I fear I'd be distracted by chickens, walkers on the footpath, and the workmen STILL doing doing the work at the top of the drive (it's a big project, going on til autumn, and they've set up their little depot/compound in a field near the top of our drive, so it's constant mini diggers and gravel deliveries - not what I had in mind when moving to the middle of nowhere!) 😂
Anyway, I shall stay inside. My study is always cold, even at this time of year, so there will be a hot water bottle and maybe even an extra cardi. I'm thinking I might prioritise a carpet in there before the winter. I usually have an extra electric heater, but at this rate, having a carpet fitted will be cheaper, and now the decluttering is done, it's easier to imagine shifting everything.
Yesterday was a long day - well, the longest day of the year in fact 😂 but also a long day at work, as I had to wait for Mr Cheery to finish band practice before I could come home. Does make sense to travel together though - I think I worked out the commute to work is about £7 a day, possibly even more now 😮 so no point going in the same direction in two different cars.
I did manage to take all three meals with me though! Overnight oats for breakfast, ryvita and cottage cheese for lunch, and leftover veggie sausage and home made chips for tea 😂 Not recommending the latter, the chips did go quite soggy in the microwave, but it did keep me going nicely and provided some amusement to the colleague who spotted me eating them 😂
Did a bit of a stock up at @ldi on Monday so we have plenty of fruit and veg. Will try to make something with spare portions I can freeze tonight.
Today is my last day at work this week! Worked Friday last week so need to take that extra day back before it gets lost in the mists of time. Also taking Monday off to use up some holidays. Plans for the long weekend:
* quarry show! 😂 Ridiculous, but it's nearby, huge, free, and a complete novelty - how often do you actually get to go in a quarry?? Not sure Mr Cheery is convinced, but we only need to stay for an hour.
* friend is coming over on Friday to stay overnight. We're going to an exhibition of work from a local artist in a little market town she's not been to before, so we'll have a potter about while we're there. There's a wilkos, so I must see if there's anything I've been waiting to buy and forgotten about.
* we're going to see Mr Cheery on Sunday (EDIT - Mr Cheery's Dad - I see Mr Cheery every day!) - I'll be finishing the plastering in the living room I think, and maybe doing a bit of gardening if I get chance.
At home...
* finish the darn kitchen ceiling. Will I ever have a list that doesn't have this on it?!
* get the rest of the veg out of the greenhouse and into the ground
* investigate smart meter fittings - I've been reading @Elisheba 's diary and been inspired by meter readings and small savings. We could do WAY better with our electricity use. Gas is LPG so can't have smart meter, but given that it's a tank with a gauge I'm always very aware of how quickly we're using it up...
Not making any other plans, that's quite enough.
Right, need to get my act together. Got a free bet to use up that runs out today so I'll do that first before I forget.
Have a good money saving day all!

The nearest fuel station to me on the main road has diesel at 193.9 - it is 196.9 just a mile further on, and 199.9 at the BP opposite that. I have just over half a tank and may just wait.

Yep, there doesn't seem to be any loosening in the supply chain - it might go down because the whole of the western world goes into recession of course, but that's not really to be wished for!
Six hours, Cheery! Hope you have nice snacks with you, as well as managing your food so well yesterday.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -

It was quite a long day!! Interesting, but loooooong.
Had an email from the gym - apologising that their contact centre had cancelled my membership in error, and that I now owed them for June, and did they have my permission to set up the DD again from July?
Er, no 😂😂 Someone has clearly got the wrong end of the stick... fortunately the woman who emailed was sensible, and now I've explained the situation (again) she has cancelled, removed all charges and arrears, and enabled my card for pay as you go membership so I can still use the app to book sessions.
Phew! 😂9 -
Afternoon MSE chums.
I'm off today, in lieu of last Friday. Don't feel very productive! Lost £38 on the Happy Wheel this morning 😮 then went to the quarry show. Goodness it was hot, and goodness, there is a LOT of dosh sloshing around in the construction industry 😮😮 this is a massive trade show, really interesting to see some of the enormous machinery (including my beloved rubble hoover).
Didn't stay long though, and decamped to the cafe for some plotting and scheming. More on that later.
I've done a load of washing, bought a couple of giant bolster cushions in a charity shop for £1 each, spent the latest lot of vouchers in the supermarket, and now I'm in the garden with the chickens.
I was doing a bit of weeding, but Bonny has sat down for a nap and I don't want to move while she's snoozing, so I'm just going to have to stop here for a while 😂😂
