Arkline RBS PPI letter deceased

Hi everyone. 
I've just stumbled across this whilst on Google looking for estimated wait times.
I received a letter on behalf of my mother who passed into 2012. The letter came from RBS in December. I phoned and sent off the required paperwork in January. I then received an confirmation in March and had nothing since and it's now August! I did phone and ask and they said they couldn't give any more information and I'd need to just wait for a letter. 
Nice to see people are finally getting replies and cheques, maybe they just are overly busy 😊

I have phoned RBS on several occasions only one advisor was helpful the rest have been close to rude, they wont give you any info, except this one very helpful lady who gave me lots of details and reference numbers to the claims, that was back in April

Legally, only the executor of the estate is allowed to be given information.    It is hard to identify the executor of the estate on a phone call and being refused information is likely the most sensible response until the executor can be correctly identified.

for what it's worth given that PPI claims ended a couple/three years back the relevant teams have slowly been "retired".  So any on going work is being done by a smaller and smaller group of people in each of the financial institutions.  The one that I'm familiar with had a massive redundancy a few months at the PPI deadline and since then colleagues have moved to new roles, new companies, retired and not been replaced.  so less and less people to work on things over time and less and less knowledge retained about how to resolve things too.

I got a letter in April about my dads PPI as I am the executor. He passed away in 2012 so it was a surprise as he didn’t bank with RBS. I called the number provided to check it wasn’t a scam and it was explained that there are various credit cards, finance companies that came under RBS umbrella so that made more sense to me then. I filled the confirmation online and having not heard anything since I called on Friday. The chap explained that the details had been added to their system early July and they are currently working on cases added end of February, start of March. He said this whole exercise had turn out to be more complicated and time consuming than anticipated so it may be a while before I hear from them. I just thought this would help anyone waiting for news.
