We recently got a smart TV which has an internet browser ... not sure which one, it came pre-installed on the Samsung TV.

It works fine, but it is .. v   e   r   y .. v   e   r   y slow to have to use the TV remote to move the cursor to type anything.

Is there an app or something to make this easier and quicker ?

I remember many years ago, having a  Blueyonder email and they could provide (at a cost) a keyboard which let you type emails on the TV.

Surely there must be something similar now for browsing

thanks !

  • Depending on the TV model you may be able to connect a Bluetooth keyboard.

Most smart TV's with a USB as stated you can use a bluetooth keyboard, otherwise, it depends on the make of TV just search the App store on your phone for the make of TV

Page 33 of your online manual says you can use a wired USB keyboard mouse and/or Bluetooth as well.

Is there an app that turns your phone into a Bluetooth keyboard?

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Keyboards are cheap, but expect to be disappointed. There are many things the TV's web browser cannot display, or actions it can't do. You've obviously got an internet connection, and presumably some other internet capable device that uses it. Look at mirroring or casting your device(s) to the TV. It generally works and is so much better than trying to use the TV's browser.

Yes, I agree and my PC is obviously better. My wife and I both have phones too and she has an iPad, but just fancy perhaps seeing things big on the bedroom TV (when wife working nightshift)

OK, I look at trains on Railcam and although there are some videos streamed live on YouTube too, the internet version shows more information, as well as providing track diagrams at the same time. Sad, I know .. but harmless

My Samsung TV has Apple AirPlay built in. Works a treat with an iPad. Used it for the grandchildren to have a zoom call with Santa!
