misinformed of flight cancellation by agent

so a month ago i had booked return flights with loganair through lasatmin.com.... 2 days before the flights lastmin emailed to say the flights had been cancelled and to contact loganair... my efforts to get through to logan air were unsuccessful so, as i had to be at my destination no matter what i booked alternative travel arrangements through a different airline and from a far further away airport. The new flights etc cost an additional £488. so i then the next morning email the original airline stating i wanted a refund for the cancelled flights... about 8 hours later they reply stating "no flights have been cancelled at all" and that " A number of lastmin customers had contacted them with the same problem". ... so we ended up taking the rebooked flights ...and the orignal flight did in deed go as it stated and hadn't been cancelled after all.

so now a month later here i am being told by lastmin that they were informed flights were cancelled and i should get a refund from the airline ( which is only £300) and loganair(the airline) are telling me there wont be a refund as the flight went ahead as planned. what a mess...... the way i see it is that lastmin misinformed me the flight was cancelled when it actually hadnt been. This then ended up costing me £488 to fix in alternative travel arrangments. i should be entitled to the £488 at least imo. ive no idea who i would even take this too if i get no further with them.......

Ask LM for the evidence they got that the flights were cancelled. If the airline did misinform them, it is the airline's fault, if on the other hand there was no notification and they got the story jumbled, possibly the same flight number on a different day or a different flight on the same day, then it is LM's fault. They may try and argue that they told you to contact the airline, n which case, what was the point in using LM in the first place? For flight only bookings for UK airlines always go to the airline directly in the first place, but you know that now!

The loganair website wasn’t available for hours after the initial email from last min… so I thought the site had crashed due to the flights all being cancelled. The phone lines also had a messsage stating we can’t answer any more calls as we are at our max.. call again at another time
