First spend for the January challenge. Popped to Ald! and Lid! And spent £8.19.Picked up some ys fishcakes for 90p a pack and struggled to not pick up anything else! Also needed some packed lunch stuff for the kids as they are at holiday club for the next couple of days. I found some reduced pizzas for 30p so got those along with some pepperoni to add. The rest of the packed lunch stuff I already have.Needed handwash too as the 5 year old made a bath in the sink with the rest of mine 🙄
Picked up some frozen onions/peppers which are needed fo me the next weeks meals.
I bought a family organiser for this year and as it has an extra column I’m using that for a monthly meal plan. The news of the increasing bills this year (CT/ energy etc) is worrying me (I do suffer with anxiety so worry quite a lot to be honest), so I’ve told my husband that this month I am going to shop from my freezer/cupboards and any money saved will be going into savings! Im also going to go swimming/gym a lot more so I can use their showers 😉😉

Could I join in please?Monthly budget is £150 which is for myself, my son (AKA the bottomless pit) and a cat, including all food, toiletries, household cleaning and pet related purchases.
It’s a drop from what we have been spending, so it’s going to be interesting to see if we can manage, but it’s necessary.ThanksLBM December 2021

Can I join please? I've been lurking for a few months, but with a £300 vet bill due tomorrow, I've decided to commit properly so we don't have to raid our limited savings.
Please put me down for £200 for January
We're 2 adults and a dog. The chest freezer and cupboards are well stocked, so I'm hopeful we can limit our shops to mostly fresh veg, milk and eggs.#31 MFW 2024

Oh my goodness, I completely lost track before Christmas! I don't think I will have gone over, but I didn't have time to sort out what was festive spending and what was ordinary expenditure. Anyway,
please can you put me down for £500 for January? Thank you!
It's a 5-week month for us, but there are enough festive left-overs to see us through most of the first week. Plus there's kale, chard & leeks down at the 'lottie, and still some HG spuds. And we're still feeding 5 adults, on 2 different diets.

Please may I join again? Was on here beginning of last year and this helped regulate my spends so well! Trailed off towards the end of the year with this and the other and realised without this board my spend almost doubled each month so need to keep myself accountable again. My budget is just for me.
I'd like to start January with a £155 budget, so £5 a day. In time this will come down but just want to see where i sit after christmas has done its rounds.

Good evening. Please can I join in again this month. I didn't always stay within budget (went over by around £10 each time) but I learned a lot about myself and my shopping habits.
I realise that when I set my budget I treat it as a target to aim for rather than a ceiling to stay below. Each month I say that my freezer and store cupboards are full so I must just keep filling them. I'm getter better at using leftovers and reducing food waste but I'd like to reduce consumption of meat. Snacks are my downfall - sugar rush and calorific.
my budget for this month to include super posh cat food, laundry products, cleaning products and toiletries is
£320.00
(note to self - this is not a target to reach, it is a maximum and I need to aim to spend less than this 😇)

Can I please join with a budget of £200 as usual. That's for 2 adults, a dog and a cat, including cleaning products and toiletries.
I think I'm going to start a takeaway budget of £50 per month as I'd be interested to see how much we actually spend on them. I've never included takeaways in my grocery budget and would like to keep them separate but hopefully this will make us more accountable for how much we spend on them.12 -
First spends were made yesterday. £29.12 in aldi on 6 litres of fizzy drink, 2 pints of milk, 40 dishwasher tablets, shampoo, 1 litre of juice, bleach, garlic sauce, 1kg fries, 2 pasta ready meals, 1 kitchen roll, 4 beef burgers, pack of ice creams, broccoli, angel delight, stir fry sauce, Thai meal kit, aioli, bag of salad, chicken for sandwiches, beansprouts, 8 wraps, mushrooms, 9 toilet rolls and green beans.
Had to go in asda for a few bits we couldn't get in aldi and ended up spending £13.22 on 8 litres of fizzy drink, 4 veggie burgers, 2 sausage and mash ready meals (YS), Quorn cocktail sausages (YS), corn on the cob (YS), sandwich filler (YS), 2 doughnuts (YS), pigs in blankets (YS), brie, mini pizza flatbread (YS) and a pack of sweets.

Hello, could I join please? I’ve been lurking for ages but would love to have a got at this and the frugal loving challenge
My month will be a calendar month and my budget will be £260 to include food, toiletries, cleaning, cat food and bulk buts. Thank you!
I’d like to set this up in my signature but when I try it’s saying I can’t, and I can’t find a reason why. Is that to do with being a n00b?Grocery Challenge
