This is my first month and I’m still working out how much I spend per month on food so I can set up a realistic budget. One thing I have noticed though is that I will definitely need to have a bulk fund. I have a dairy intolerance and the alternative milk I like is currently on offer (25% cheaper) in Mr Ts so I’ve been stocking up before the offer ends. I won’t be able to do that kind of thing without a bulk fund so it’s something to think about and plan for.8

Meal plan all done for next week and the pastries I’ve frozen from @lio are making an appearance! I’m really trying to eat from stores a lot, I have a habit of restocking to ‘full’ when I don’t need to and I need to get used to gaps on the shelf once in a while.I also made an accidental soup tonight - I had the oven on and always try to pack it if I do, so put in some leeks in stock/cheese sauce. They were great with dinner but the sauce was quite thin so I blitzed it and have some truly delicious soup! One portion will go to a friend who makes me bread, a nice swap.Grocery Challenge

Tiny spend of 44p on some YS soup today which OH enjoyed for lunch.
Leaves us with £24.67 for this week's shop.
We're still on £0/£50 on the takeaway budget too, which I'm very happy with.8 -

Popped into town this morning after the school run and have 2 spends to declare.
£2.97 in L!dl for 3 boxes of dishwasher salt. We haven't had any for 6 weeks and haven't been able to find it anywhere. After speaking to friends I was recommended to go to L!dl so stocked up.
£8.96 in @sda 2 bottles of my shampoo and shampoo and conditioner for DD10.
Didn't need any food stuff so that should be me until the weekend at least. Will need dog food but that's currently from a different budget.
£138.07 left from the cash I took put to last the rest of the month.
Hope everyone has a lovely week.6 -
£28.59 added, mostly from a long-promised trip to the local Chinese supermarket, but also a quick raid on W8rose as OH had somehow demolished an entire loaf of sliced bread in two days. Looking a little tight now, with two more weekends to go in January's pay packet, but It's do-able. We won't run out of exotic spices in a hurry, anyway! 😉Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6

I'm Australian. Pilchards don't exist in Australia. It was several years before I discovered that "pilchard" is a Cornish name for sardine.

Have spent a total of £23.30 today on deodorant, shampoo and a top up of fruit, veg and some other bits from Aldi. This should last us now until the end of the month so won’t be buying any more groceries until after payday. Fingers crossed I should just scrape in under budgetJanuary grocery challenge £96.46/£1008
