using a solicitor is an expensive way to use the small claims court as the legal fees you can claim are capped.

But you would be as well going ahead and giving him the £80 for the court fee this is claimed back, just make sure you get an idea of what the solicitor is going to charge you compared to what can be claimed back.

of course winning isn't the end of it, you still need to get paid, that can be another hassle.
