Is there a former Utility point Customer please?

This morning (21St December) I receive a first Bill from EDF, from the corredt meters going by the reference numbers.
They have the means to create this bill without any input from me or a smart meter that I don't have but not the means to be aware of the quite large credit of mine.
I find this rather bizare, like wouldn't it be prudent to keep these details together.
What are peoples' experience and thoughts please?
Many thanks

They can't show the credit on your account until the final bill is issued by UP.
And if you haven't supplied meter readings (you should have done, I had an email from them several weeks ago asking for mine and you are ahead of me in the process) then your correct first bill can only be as a result of lucky estimates.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

EssexHebridean many thanks to you, as above they have never asked for meter reads that I'm aware as per above, unless it was lost in a crowds of other things such as marketing rubbish. I messaged their complaints team today. With UP requests for meter reads where polite and unmistakeable. As much as each customer and situation is different, do you have any idea/s of when a final Bill from UP is likely please?Have a good Christmas/ Holiday0

The emails that I received from EDF asking for meter readings (one each for gas and electricity) both had the subject line "Your switch to EDF is nearly complete" and then at the top of the email body, in a large font "Time for your opening meter read".james_smitha said:do you have any idea/s of when a final Bill from UP is likely please?
Lower down in each email it said "If you don't submit a meter reading by [Day Month 2021] then we'll open your account with an estimated reading." where [Day Month 2021] was a few days later than the date of the email. I don't know if you received similar. Maybe it depended on whether you responded to the earlier email "Welcome to EDF" which started "We've started to set up your Electricity and Gas account" and then lower down in large text "Register for MyAccount" and in smaller text "You'll need to register for MyAccount".
I'm only guessing how long it might take a UP to create a final bill, but they seem to be working using the system for when a customer switches suppliers, and in that situation the Ofgem standard ( https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/information-consumers/energy-advice-households/switching-energy-tariff-or-supplier#tab-content-570 ) is "Supplier sends a final bill within six weeks of a switch."
So if you are getting monthly bills then that could imply that your 'Switch' happened as at 21st November, so 6 weeks later is early January. But as UP are in administration the standards may not technically apply to them. However I would hope they could still achieve that kind of timescale, but it's not guaranteed.

One other thought - have you logged in to your UP account recently?0

just checked my UP account online and my final bill is there as of this week
they have used my readings i have given them aswell so all looks ok
it says any balance will be transfered over to edf account and next bill is 18 jan from edf so hope it will be in there by then
its moving towards getting sorted1 -
Just checked and bill spot on. My reading had been accepted and the balance after final bill is £124.00 in credit. This I assume will be transferred in t he goodness of time.1

Still no UP bill for me.
OP - if I were you I'd log in to EDF and see if it will let you submit a meter read now - it may do and at least then they will start getting a picture of your use.
Going forwards, personally I wouldn't wait for them to ask for a reading, I'd submit one at least monthly anyway as that avoids the risk of "interesting" estimations on their part.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

It took about a six weeks from receiving the "your switch to EDF is nearly complete" email, and my final bill bein issued by Utility Point, I received it a couple of days ago, it covered up until 7 november for me. Bear in mind that they're charging EDF's tariff from 18 September onwards, so it may eat into any remaining credit you may have with them. oh - and if you cancelled your Direct Debit mandate when they went into administration, they rates they are using are higher by around 10% per unit, and 18% daily charge on top. my £385.86 credit was almost wholely consumed by the increase in prices. The last time i was switched to a supplier of last resort, it took about 3 months for credit to be passed over, but the switch was complete alot quicker, in around 5 weeks.

As a matter of interest, does the date of 7 November tie in with EDF's start date on their contract tracker? If so, it does mean that the date shown has some meaning. I'd assumed UP's administrators would only bill up to 18 September, the date UP went bust, but this does not appear to be the case based on what you've received.PenryP said:It took about a six weeks from receiving the "your switch to EDF is nearly complete" email, and my final bill bein issued by Utility Point, I received it a couple of days ago, it covered up until 7 november for me. I shall check my bill very carefully when it arrives. I, following advice from several sources cancelled my DD as soon as they went bust. So the payment due on 20th September didn't go. Following EDF's advice to NOT cancel, I got my bank to reinstate it and the 20th October payment went out ok to UP, and subsequent ones have all gone through. I shall not accept being charged anything but the agreed tariff.0 -
High 5 Every one, I've had a look through all the corespondance. Yes it is likely that I've overlooked the meter read request so done that on 22 december, so we shall see what happens if any thing.I looked at my utility point, the large credit is still there untouched. It is noticed that edf have a daily charge twice that of utility point0
