Urgent help with FinnAir international flight needed

Options
Can anyone help with a FinnAir flight issue? My stepdaughter booked to travel from Boston to London on Christmas Day on a flight that FinnAir said could be changed as many times as needed. She is now unable to travel since she's a single mother with three little ones and can't risk being stuck overseas due to Covid, and FinnAir now states the flight cannot be changed. It was a very expensive fare and since they are not allowing refunds, we need to use the ticket at some point so we don't lose the money.

Getting hold of anyone at FinnAir is impossible. They don't respond to online messages (social media or email), keep her on the phone an hour then drop the call (or have no agents available) and their "Live Chat' gets nowhere.

Since it is now only days away from travel date, we're getting desperate and would appreciate any help. The flight was booked directly through the airline (online) so no aggregators involved. All we need is for them to follow through on the promised changes offered on their documents.
Thank you.

I would have advised as onashoestring has but any change will need to comply with the Finnair ticket conditions. Have these been read? Best to do so before finally reaching the airline.

There may be an end date for when the new flight must be taken.

The new flight must also be in bookable range (normally +11 months on scheduled airlines.  She wouldn’t for example be able to change to Christmas 2022 dates.

If DiL is near to BOS perhaps she could go to the Finnair ticket desk at Logan. Check opening times first as likely only manned during checkin times of Finnair flights.

What exactly is your DiL wishing to do?
  • The website won't let her make any changes and she can't reach anyone.

think you may need to add a lot more detail behind to those statements before anyone can offer useful advice !

The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

There is unlikely to be a Finnair desk at the airport as they do not operate any flights from Boston. This will be a codeshare flight with either BA or AA (neither of which are likely to be able to help if this is a Finnair ticket)
