Currys sent me a free Xbox.

I bought an Xbox from Currys (website) for £449. As you know, these Xbox Series X consoles are selling out within seconds/minutes of being in stock.
30 mins later I changed my mind and cancelled the order using the Live Chat on their website. (Not that it matters to this post, but I did so because I decided to buy a gaming computer instead.)
Anyway, the Live Chat customer service agent confirmed he cancelled it and I got an email confirming that.
After 5 - 7 days I was refunded the £449 like he said.
Then today DPD delivered the Xbox to me.

I haven't opened it.
When I log into Currys website and click "view orders", it says "dispatched" instead of "cancelled". It seems Currys' system doesn't recognise it as a cancelled order, despite the fact I was refunded.
We're a few days away from Christmas (although I don't celebrate Christmas). I could easily sell this for minimum £500 on eBay. Minus eBay's 10% selling fees, that's still £450 on top of the £449 I already recieved from the refund. But I feel conflicted about doing this.

So my questions:
What should I do/what would you do?
What does the law say?
Thanks

Do you really need to be told? Because if you do, you probably won't listen anyway...7

If I wasn't going to listen, why on God's green Earth would I be here?Manxman_in_exile said:Do you really need to be told? Because if you do, you probably won't listen anyway...0 -
Why do you need to ask the question in the first place ?Deleted User said:

Because you want someone to tell you that you get to keep it and Currys can go suck a lemon.Deleted User said:

Return it. Its not yours.2

My guess would be you want to see what way Currys could get it or the money back?Deleted User said:

Because that would be theft.Deleted User said:We're a few days away from Christmas (although I don't celebrate Christmas). I could easily sell this for minimum £500 on eBay. Return the X-Box to Curry's.0 -
The law says it belongs to Currys and they have 6 years to chase you for the cost of it should you not notify them of the error and send it back or re-pay for it.Deleted User said:I bought an Xbox from Currys (website) for £449. So making £450 profit on Ebay and paying £449 means a lot of hassle for £1 total profit.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)2 -
You're "conflicted"? Ok, let's make it simple:
Are you a greedy person?
If not, contact Currys and arrange the return of the console.

Another one who wants people here to say "Keep it. Currys will never realise. Make a few quid" Sorry buddy, that isn't going to happen. To do what you are suggesting is theft pure and simple, and you will be pulling an innocent purchaser into your web too. They register the Xbox and eventually it comes up as potentially stolen.....
