.I will keep trying, it's been all malt vinegar the past 3 months of grocery shopping.
Re the tagging, if you type the @ symbol and the first few letters of username then there should be a drop-down list of suggested names. Or, as previously said, just type @Frugaldom and I'll get a notification. 😊I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Someone said it's cheaper to use a dishwasher than do the dishes by hand, not sure if this is correct but I do chop my dishwasher tablets in half - a tip I picked up on here.
However, I just realised, I can heat water on the woodburner and use it for washing up, that means I can put the dishwashers to bed for the winter so apart from the washing up liquid it can't get any cheaper.12 -
Good Evening ,well done willow for becoming debt free its a great feeling isn't it.
I am watching a tv programme I recorded on my Tivo box from Channel 5 called the 'Winter of Discontent' about 1978/79 and inflation and the amount of food shortages we had during that winter.
It felt like everyone was on strike at one point and inflation was 7% and unions demanding 30% increases. I remember the winter clearly, as we had dreadful snow and the shops were virtually cleared of food within days ,petrol queues and if you heard of a shop that had almost anything you would try to get it..I do hope we are not in for another 'winter of discontent' this year
I feel reasonably secure with my food stocks, well of dried and tinned stuff at least. How we will get on with fresh food I'm not so sure, but we will get trough I guess. as we are a pretty stoical race aren't we and just batten down .
It was interesting to see how the commnuity sprit was alive and well in the UK, as it was in our recent pandemic and I do have faith in the goodheartednees of the majority of folk.
I've been a bit poorly with laryngitis and not feeling quite up to par, but I was lucky enough to see my Dr yesterday (first time for three years ) and he gave me a prescition for medicatio which hopefully will reduce the swelling in my throat.I have a very croaky voice at the moment, so giving my vocal cords a rest as well
My Dr advised just soft easy to swallow stuff bless him and suggested Ice cream ,so following Drs ordersI bought some choc ices which were reduced in Tesco, as my small Metro shop reduced stuff at thei time of the year to get their Christmas stocks in.So tea tonight was some strawberry jelly with ice cream
lunch was chicken soup
So spoiling myself for a change
Hope everyone is Ok and hanging onto their purses only 6 more days until the end of the month and I still have not used the CH yet its still very mild here.

We aren't on a water meter so I don't need to do it from a money saving perspective but I'd be keen to consider it from an environmental one.
Thanks in advance.

Just breaking my lurking for @Frugaldom and others looking for white vinegar - my husband bought a very large (5 litres) bottle of the stuff off Amazon the other week.
Obviously in very rural areas it might be harder to get an Amazon delivery but if you have a friend with easier access you could ask them to purchase for you."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.
