UClaim Management Services (U CLAIM 4 ME) PPI Claim

Hi

My father-in-law used a company called UClaim Management (U CLAIM  4 ME) to make several ppi claims.  He complete all the paperwork and had letters back from them giving reference numbers and saying they were looking into them.   There were 6 claims in total.

We seem to have had very little correspondence from them since, apart from we are looking into your claims.

My father-in-law recently passed from cancer and understandably, maybe that's why he didn't chase them at the time. The family have now asked me to try and find out what is happening but I am having very little success.  Any advice on what I can do or what the next should be would be greatly appreciated.

The more important thing is the correspondence from the companies he is complaining about.   Those banks/lenders will acknowledge the complaint in writing and explain the process.   Did he have those?

  • I was given a envelope with some correspondence in it and was told that's everything.   There is nothing after the letters saying we are contacting the lenders to establish the validity of the claim.

Are we saying that the lenders would have written directly to my father-in-law even though the claim was been handled by a third party.  That's if the claims company actually contacted the lenders.   I'm coming to the conclusion that they haven't contacted anybody and that's why they are reluctant to say anything

It may be a case of giving up on this one. According to Companies House they are in administration.

I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!

The acknowledgement of receipt and process must end up in the hands of the complainant.    In the majority of cases, they would go direct to the complainant.   Although in some cases, CMCs would insist that they go to them and they will pass them on.

    That happened quite frequently.

  • So can I now go directly to the banks involved, bypassing the claims company, on the basis that the company has gone into administration and due to his terminal illness he had not chased it up.
  • Just had a conversation with one of the banks and they say they can look at it if we can prove exceptional circumstances.

The CMC going into administration isn’t an exceptional circumstance, just incase you were planning on using that.

Neither is ‘the CMC didn’t fwd on the complaint’.

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)
  • Would serious ill health be seen as expectational circumstances?
  • The CMC is in administration but the FCA have agreed that all outstanding claims can still be processed.

If claims were lodged with the bank, yes. The administrators will still likely come after you for a cut, remains to be seen what the status will be
