Onecom & Vodafone
I'm hoping someone can help me get out of a deceptive contract sold by Onecom (Onecon?) on a cold call.
Onecom offered me a £10 a month Mobile phone media package based on a Vodaphone contract sim only package of £49 with discount of £39 from Onecom.
They said I would have to call them after 18 months when the discount would stop. What they failed to mention at the time was is would cost @£700 to get put of the contract after 18 months. The maximum discount from the £49 would be £5. Leaving me to pay £44 for a service I could easily get including Amazon prime for £20. Paying their commission to the tune of £24 for 18 months for doing nothing. I have the call recordings and the whole script is totally designed to mislead. I even think one of the calls has been edited. I feel taken for a fool and I would not have been interested except for the fact I was having problems with Virgin asking for 50% more for the same sim service they were already providing. A quick look a Onecom's feedback - it seems this is how they work..... Vodophone have you any decency in your business ethics to hep me out of this? More to the point why are you letting these practices go on in your name (your contract)? I thought as a big business you would be better than this!!! This is a business contract for a sole trader and therefore there is no cooling off period - which they have relied on. Please anyone getting one of the cold calls be aware - you could like me be taken for an expensive ride!!!!!

Yes - I wish I had done a search on this website before the deal went ahead. But they did a very good job pulling the wool over my eyes....

This is exactly what happened to me. I was told on the phone (i know better to ever buy from cold callers ) but i was told it was a £15 a month contract. Only to find out its over £30 a month I've tried to take this further but to no avail.
They seem to be able to deceive and lie to get you into a contract and hold you to it. Surely something should be done about this company. Its been 18 months of bad service i still have 18 months to go.0
