Ignore DCAs (explained in the newbies) and complain to your MP.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Complained to Matt Western MP also Jeremy Wright MP three months ago and had responses. Also reported to trading standards at the moment and they are currently under investigation….
  • You need to show the landlord of the pub this ......  He could well be next for employing money bandits

    Very good!

But never phone a debt collector.

Could you show your complaint email that went to those MPs because people struggle to know what to put but we are not writing a template complaint because that loses impact.

Seeing what a real newbie put in their MP complaint is always useful for others.

Just received the next stage of the saga by letter. From Debt Recovery Plus.
Demanding £160 now. My intention is to call and inform them that we will not be paying, give them the evidence that it was physically impossible to conform with the parking notices due to the venue being closed (wife left the car park after 11 minutes after dealing with children in the back and also seeing the parking notices). They will then be aware that we will not be paying and intend to see them in the claims court.
    Any further tips from anyone?
Don't communicate with these at all. They will just want you to pay because they work on a no collect, no fee basis.

I must admit I did send an initial letter to ask them to not contact me again and to refer back to the PPC. They still sent letters which I filed.

Looks like what happened to the driver is happening a lot of people. Pub closed and people leave without being able to enter their details. That's a clever little scam.

Copy the Tripadvisor comments as there are quite a lot and use them in your WS.

I have counted 17 comments on Tripadvisor with the same issue as the OP. I have not gone through all of the comments.

The 17 all have got a PCN. Reading a reply to a comment from the manager of the Pub, they don't want to know? Nothing to do with them.

I think if this gets to court and a judge sees these comments on Tripadvisor he/she will dismiss the case. Hopefully a few more will appear on the forum but I fear that some will just pay.

One can only describe the manager as a complete fool.  I would think he has lost a lot of customers already and more will follow.

In my aea, there are two retail parks that have booted UKPC out

Some of those people may end up with a CCJ which would ruin their chances of obtaining finance and possibly affect their career chances. All just because they drove into a pub car park which was not open and could not enter their registration number.

That did happen at the wedding that took place at the Travelodge, Burton. A guest got a CCJ.  I don't know how that case has panned out.
