I am a little confused when to order and have my {returning to UK) day 2 test delivered.

Would I need to order it and have it delivered before a 2 week trip and leave it in the house until i return or is there a time limit from
when i order it and then use it? meaning i would order it whilst away and get the reg code for the PLF by email.
Thank you

You can order it while your away so it arrives at home for when you get back.

Given how volatile the rules are I'll be waiting until much closer to my return in case they change between now and then.

Remember you have to isolate until the results are received and its not a day 2 but a day 0-2 test now so if you dont want to be locked in at home you may want a same/next day service (eg get a next day from the airport when you land) in which case leaving it late may make it difficult to find availability.

At the moment due to constant rule changes I'd advise not doing anything until a week before arrival in the UK.

If you need the results back quickly, an on-site test on your return is likely to have a faster turnaround time. These are available at most airports.

I only have experience with CTM and Collinson.

A Collinson on site test (£55.20 with discount code BA20OFF) should be back to you before one of the postal tests have arrived at the lab, shortening your isolation time.

  • HELP!  We ordered our TUI VAX Travel Kit from Chronomics in plenty of time for our departure on the 19th December, unfortunately our kits are nowhere to be seen.

Once I eventually managed to get hold of someone this morning on the online chat it turns out that due to a 'delivery process issue' they can't deliver our Test to Return kits which obviously we need to return to the UK on the 26th December.  They have apologies and now cancelled our order (that means the 2 Day test kit have also been cancelled).

Now with only a couple of days to go before depart we are finding it increasingly difficult to get any Travel Kits especially the test to Return kits as they have to be ordered on line and delivery.  Nobody can obviously guarantee delivery in time for our departure.

We are hoping to go to Finland but its looking increasingly unlikely that we will be able to travel as a result of this, is there anywhere we can get the return to travel kits by Saturday 18th December or will we have to for go our holiday as a result of this?

Amazon now offer these kits, next day delivery.

also I ordered off randox last week. Their website quoted 4-6 business days delivery but they arrived the next day.

re reading what you wrote, I’m not sure what you are after. Day2 tests can be bought, and code issued for plf, instantly online and the kits will arrive while you are away. Pre flight home kits should be able to be sourced in local pharmacies or testing centres abroad. If Finland want tests before you leave the UK there are plenty of places eg collinson or expressTest that will do a test within hours for lateral flow or within 24 hrs for PCR.

Any reason why you dont want to just get a local test in Finland?

It seems a very British thing about ordering the tests to take with you... look at trip advisor etc and all the US people are just buying local tests at their destination. Certainly coming back from latin america earlier in the year the local lat flow test was much cheaper than any of the "take with you" options from the UK.

Sandtree,I agree the fit to fly LFT available in plenty of chemists in Rio de Janerio for around £14

Just walk in get it done, and they give you the certificate in English and Portugese.
