Passport expiry dates need to be 1 year left not 6 months

I was pointing out that the OP's title and advice is completely misleading, as briefly as possible, for the benefit of others who might be misled by it (as the OP is unlikely to return). The likely actual reason for denial of boarding has been explained by others.

We're unlikely to find out the true circumstances but there is no requirement in general for 12 months' passport validity for entry to any easyJet destination (or probably anywhere).

Passport validity

Check your passport is valid for travel before you book your trip, and renew your passport if you do not have enough time left on it.

Make sure your passport is:

• valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave Cyprus
• less than 10 years old

The 3 months you need when leaving a country must be within 10 years of the passport issue date.

If you renewed your current passport before the previous one expired, extra months may have been added to its expiry date. Any extra months on your passport over 10 years may not count towards the minimum 3 months needed.

If you’re travelling to the north of Cyprus, their administration advises that your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry to the north.
