We saw that feeble letter a couple of weeks ago it's utter cobblers and quite funny, they are taking you for an idiot, where in reality it looks like it's been written by the village idiot.

  • I've received one of these exact same letters, what I want to know is do they always proceed to court action or is it random?  Does it make a difference if I pay DRP or the landowner or court if I'm going to have to pay it eventually?  And if it does go to court, will it be on my credit file?  Thanks

DRP never take anyone to court over parking charge notices !!  Period !! So no point paying them ( DRP are powerless and can only post out begging letters , nothing more )

Ignore drp , ignore their letters , do not even read a drp begging letter , never pay drp LTD

    Capiche ??

You don't have a proven debt, and the landowner isn't requesting any money it's a speculative invoice from a private parking company, the idiot debt collectors that make up their own demands are also adding fees why would you pay them for just sending threatening letters.

You are highly UNLIKELY to have to pay it eventually!  No-one pays DRPlus.

  • Cheers for the assurances. Will just keep ignoring these ones and see where it goes.
  • Hi everyone!

I received a DRP letter and I told my son to not pay it as i knew about private companies trying to collect money from fines etc… But I was away and he was afraid that they’d come, so he decided to pay it using my card. What do I do now? Shall I do a fraudulent chargeback?

Any advise would be great, thank you!

Try the credit card section of the MSE forum for advice on chargeback.

Presumably you're happy to risk your son sucking up a potential credit card fraud prosecution?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

THINK ?    He did not use your card without your permission ... which you gave

    BANK CARD (DEBIT)
    YOU CAN CHARGEBACK

    CREDIT CARD
Covered by Section 75 of the consumer credit act ... minimum claim £100

Given the nature of how DRP operate, it gets close to blacmail with their empty threats and no doubt your son paid under duress and fakery

I would talk to your card provider , show them the DRP letter as they are using false claims to take a card payment.   Banks and credit card providers do not like their system being abused
